He's already flogged one of our stars to strengthen a direct rival, so he bloody well knows the window is open.
More likely he's busy counting the extra money he's made his master Joe Lewis. Or he's caught up admiring himself in the mirror, fooling himself into believing he's a sage as far as the transfer market is concerned...

Sorry to bring us back on topic but did we ever solve the cryptic about the boss is working on John but won't get a medal or something like that?

This recent link to Giovanni simeone got me thinking as Giovanni = John in Italian and it's a deal poch is likely to be personally involved in. Not sure about the medal reference though

I take this as meaning something is close. Given the numerous subtle references from JJ about the 'Italy' link I am assuming it is this player he is again 'commenting' on, also I would assume this was one of our main targets given that it has wanted to be kept quiet - so hopefully good news. If it is one of our main targets I really hope it is someone that is going to come in and noticeably improve our squad - and that this timing is just coincidental alongside the Simeone rumours....
