Im with your whole post but we do have the stadium to build. Not that it would have much effect anway with dear leader. Shine head's motto is no net spend. This is the strongest Premier League in history. Massive spending by lower to middle tier clubs have made every game more difficult than last season. We have an absolutely brutal stretch of matches coming up starting in late September, and we are nowhere near adequately prepared to cope with injuries or rotation. Let's also not forget we have 3 points out of 12 to start the season.
Clinton N'jie is not a lone striker. He has less than a full year of top flight footballing experience. He's settling in a new country. He has virtually no experience playing as a lone striker, as Lyon played with two strikers ahead of Fekir, and whenever N'jie played, Lacazette was almost always on the field with him. Given that Chadli and Son (who is absolutely not a lone striker and under no circumstances should be played there) are almost certain to start league matches, we'll be pinning our hopes of beating Arsenal, Monaco, and Anderlecht on N'jie, as there are no other players available. That's not fair to him and it's not fair to Pochettino. It's imperative we bring in a striker and a central midfielder. The manager has wanted one of each all summer. He's been explicit in his belief that we need another striker. After the new television deal kicks in next season, our turnover will be essentially on par with Juventus, so financial constraints are not a legitimate excuse any longer. The television deal will have jumped nearly 85 million pounds from 2012-2013 to 2016-2017.
