This is the strongest Premier League in history. Massive spending by lower to middle tier clubs have made every game more difficult than last season. We have an absolutely brutal stretch of matches coming up starting in late September, and we are nowhere near adequately prepared to cope with injuries or rotation. Let's also not forget we have 3 points out of 12 to start the season.

Clinton N'jie is not a lone striker. He has less than a full year of top flight footballing experience. He's settling in a new country. He has virtually no experience playing as a lone striker, as Lyon played with two strikers ahead of Fekir, and whenever N'jie played, Lacazette was almost always on the field with him. Given that Chadli and Son (who is absolutely not a lone striker and under no circumstances should be played there) are almost certain to start league matches, we'll be pinning our hopes of beating Arsenal, Monaco, and Anderlecht on N'jie, as there are no other players available. That's not fair to him and it's not fair to Pochettino. It's imperative we bring in a striker and a central midfielder. The manager has wanted one of each all summer. He's been explicit in his belief that we need another striker. After the new television deal kicks in next season, our turnover will be essentially on par with Juventus, so financial constraints are not a legitimate excuse any longer. The television deal will have jumped nearly 85 million pounds from 2012-2013 to 2016-2017.
Im with your whole post but we do have the stadium to build. Not that it would have much effect anway with dear leader. Shine head's motto is no net spend.

TalkSport is doing its Spurs bit. Talking to Chris Miller, Spurs blogger. He's 'relatively hopeful' of a deal today. TS said there was talk of Lamella joining SCBC on loan??? I missed that one. Other than that, no new information whatsoever. Thanks, Chris!

Even Chris wouldn't pretend to be an ITK. He's just on there as a normal fan.

Dembele and Alli are pretty balanced central midfielders, and Mason certainly gives it more of a shake than others. The rest of the bolded are current and former academy kids, where they played counter attacking football and should be given time to learn the system.

fact is we have 1 cdm at the club (bentaleb) the rest are attacking minded players, not good enough.

Please let the Transfer window be the drama in here and not some silly need to pick a fight. None of the preceding posts were particularly edifying or worthwhile. There are many other things to be funny about.

Just countering a bid to anathematize ginger gags, as succinctly as possible. All over now.

How many times are people going to post the same stupid message today and not get bored? Well done, you have identified the positions we need. Everyone wants to sign at least two players today. Get over it and stop clogging the thread FFS.

To put this to bed, I'm ginger, I do whine once in a while, and neither I nor my lost soul is offended.

So, let's all be friends and just talk ITK today. (y)

I thought Dier had a very good game v Everton. If he can pick up the basics and improve a bit on his decision-making, then he could save us a lot of heartache. And Bentaleb is ok when he doesn't lose concentration. Priority has to be HK backup for me.
Pity he can't pass very well.

Overdraft confirmed by the Goat.

From The Goat: We've just had it confirmed that we have in place our regular deadline day overdraft of around £40m.
Fack me with DL at the helm that.s enough dough up front to pay for the stadium and buy SB, Witsel, and J Martinez.....and leave change

Guys, can I recommend taking a 5 minute time out. Go out, walk to Argos in the rain, pick up a BBQ, you know that sort of thing that no-one should have to do on their day off to watch the transfer deadline day? Not that I'm bitter.

Anyway, before you all start tearing each other's hair out and then your own, go make a cup of tea, take a deep breath and be calm.

Please.

Or I'll make it a "forced" break. And we really don't want to lock this on deadline day.

A £40m overdraft doesn't mean that we've only got £40m to spend. We would have money in our account to begin with.
