Why does it get to the stage that it's shit or bust on the last day? If we don't get a striker and a midfielder of a good standard then I fear for us going forward as a few injurys would see us royally fucked..........not feeling optimistic at all, might as well just come back on deadline day as I see nowt happening before then to be honest!!

If Adebayor refused to commute to the midlands i don't see him going abroad, we are stuck with the ****, just hope we make his life a living hell and set so many traps for him he gets fined 2 weeks wages on a regular basis

Perhaps 2 in, 2 out was mentioned earlier this week and now another says maybe one out by next week. Lots of conflicting info flying about

Not scoffing at the info in any way shape or form, but it's hard to believe that one of the back up strikers is someone we've never mentioned before because we talk about virtually everyone! Must be very left field.

Thanks for the info Grey Fox but can't take that any other way than bad news. Trying to get rid of the two remaining bad apples is going very poorly. The primary target of Berahino sounds very tenuous, and when you hear the words "deals are expected to be late" for the CDM brings flashbacks to previous windows where the typical "we tried, but it was too difficult" excuses come out.

It is what it is - that's Spurs. I just don't understand how they can not address these issues. Maybe things will work out, but again, we've seen this episode before and I think we know how it ends. Unfortunate.

Means we have gone to plan x, y and z whilst we wait Football manager 2015 software update.

I don't recall the window closing early when we got VDV but may be mistaken. I seem to recall staying up really late when SSN said they have something about Spurs and a Dutch international. I'm sure it was like my bedtime when that happened.

The window closed at 6pm, but VDV wasn't confirmed until noon the next day - the coverage stretched until late in the night partially due to the enormity of the VDV transfer itself, and whether we'd done it in time.

1755: You've got to love Tottenham on days like this, you just have to. They have five minutes to wrap it up, but get a load of this. Sky Sports News are claiming a deal could - COULD - be done for the Londoners to sign Netherlands international Rafael van der Vaartfrom Real Madrid. Unbelievable.

.....

2045: Right, folks, I am going to love you and leave you. Whether or not Rafael van der Vaart's move to Tottenham has gone through in time, I'm afraid, remains a mystery, and with no-one at the club available for comment for the past few hours we've decided to call this commentary done.

I think this is pretty much the birth of modern day "Levy Time". Whether we'll see a deal that late and that big happen again remains to be seen.

Or just someone very shit and left field. Eg. Rasiak and Frazier Campbell. I can't help but think if we don't get berahino it's going to go down this route. Which in fairness is rubbish but better than the current situation of having no back up whatsoever.

This is Daniel levy's time though. He frustrates the hell out of me with his approach to transfers but there's no doubting this is his time in the window.

Yesterday JJ more or less said he expects Beharino will be done within a week, maybe quicker if certain circumstances change.

I'll wait until he changes his stance before panicking.

Look at the positives:
It makes sense to plan a back up for Berahino because it's possible a club like City place a higher bid. It doesn't mean, however, that we won't get him.
Illaramende is still possible. Obviously both parties are playing a waiting game. We would like him, he would like to wait to see if a more attractive offer comes in, hence it going to the wire. Back up is also being looked at if him and the Germans don't work out.
Will we be unhappy a week Tuesday? Maybe, but we could also get a bit of luck and end of up with a very decent match day squad. The plane hasn't crashed into the mountain yet.
And as for the other two deadwoods? Fuck 'em. They're not in our plans anyway.

Thanks for the info, nothing earth shattering. I have to say that I'm a little disappointed that it looks to be going to the wire again. If we lose out on targets due to a 3-4 million difference then I think serious questions need to be asked, especially when you see clubs like wba, Newcastle and villa all spending. There was a table on talksport the other day that shows biggest spenders, and surprise we were at the bottom with a net of £17.5m.

We managed to upgrade our defense before the the transfer window opened; so I don't understand why it's down to the wire with a striker

We need one whole month to seal a Berahino deal and most likely we will get gazzumped by a club spending one day with him and WBA. That the germans are unlikely was my thought from the first day on we were linked with them. Maybe just some names to get the fans hope up and sell some merchandise/ tickets.

I try to be positive but shouldn't get my hopes up as this is the situation every transfer window. Come on Spurs, a quality CDM and ST, its something we desperately need...

If Levy offered enough money Berahino and one of the Germans would be wrapped up in a heartbeat

We have no choice but to trust Levy till the window shuts but if he fucks up i can't imagine how even the BSODL brigade could defend him

If it goes down to the wire, and the usual excuses have to get rolled out because we haven't signed anyone, watching Tottenham this season will prove difficult.

If the club can't invest, I struggle to.

I'm sure I've mentioned Messi before. :cautious:

Grey Fox:

Sorry later than expected. We have not given up on Berahino and go in with another offer, the Fazio situation is seperate and it's basically down to him, a couple of Spanish clubs have also shown interest.

There are apparently 2 back ups to Berahino one of which has not been mentioned on here. As far as the dm/cm is concerned I've been told the Germans are now very unlikely but we have had extensive talks with Illarremendi and one other, any deals are expected to be late although the club would like them finalised before the Everton game.

As far as outgoings are concerned Adebayor, is proving really difficult basically no EPL club want him so abroad is fast becoming his/our only option. Lennon interest has also dropped and we will have to drop price if were are to get rid of. Fazio will be easier and should get done by early next week.
Once again many thanks for info GF.

Not sure how many fans would have been so eager for Berahino 2 months ago but now many are getting desperate for his arrival which is understandable, especially as on Saturday there was no recognised CF to replace Harry when he came off. What a ludicrous situation for any club let alone a club with our traditions. Fuck me DL you want to haggle and get a few quid off SB meanwhile we are dropping points wholesale, have you considered how much each point is worth?

Thanks for the update
@Grey Fox, I choose to see plenty of positives in your post. Going back in with another bid for Berahino, selling Fazio and still in touch with Illarramendi. There could still be one heck of a good ending to this window!

Exactly

Levy fucks up we are an injury away from having Chadli as our lone striker or N'Jie who is clearly 'one for the future' , meaning basically we are fucked

Kane gets injured, with the squad we have we would do well to get 10th, Levy is fucking naive if he thinks Chadli/N'Jie could get us 4th or 5th
