Not sure why people are so excited about "prodigies" I think we need a bit more proven experience. We have some great Prodigies in our youth set up don't we, what does it say to them?
These young lads, especially when coming in with no premiership experience are always a big gamble, especially at the money we are shelling out.

Get your point totally. But with such an inflated market and our financial constraints and commitments, surely this must be seen as part of a well thought out strategy.

I understand that many young supposed prodigies fail to make the grade, but surely we have to take the punt in the hope they do when considering how much the finished article now costs.

We'll never reap the rewards of turning a prodigy into a star if we don't secure them in the first place. Once star status achieved with another club, they're usually out of our reach.

A considered approach of mixing best young hopes with a sprinkling of ready made and keeping existing quality where possible seems the sensible way forward at present IMO.

If this is anything other than a tease it might be to do with the Sanchez medical that's supposedly happening today(SSN)

Maybe Sanchez will be completely confirmed today because in his announcement it did say subject to work permit and medical
