Sc'ers are FAR too sensible to indulge in pointless guessing games. Only a complete simpleton would do that.
Love the Mods here...lets bait the trap, watch the lemmings all fall for it, and then sit back, laugh, drink, and eat cabbages.

Any guesses?
I honestly do think its Kovacic. Makes too much sense. There were reports Poch liked him alot. We're looking at getting at least 2 of Bentaleb, Mason and Carroll so we're leaving ourselves a bit light at CM. He's young with alot of potential and is apparently available for less than £25m.

Doesnt matter because its not gonna happen

Surprised, if we have finished after GKN but wouldn't surprise me if we are done, all the ITK are saying the same thing so looks that way. I just wish we wouldn't take risks every summer, no back up CB is a risk, what happens if Toby gets an injury, Dier has to step back with Wimmer for the first few months.. that does not fill me with confidence as they need experience partner with them. CCV is not ready ive seen a lot of him this year and he is not ready for top 4 PL, sorry to say it as know a lot of you love him but he is Caulker v2 in my opinion and we know what happened there. They won't all come through as superstars, we are badly risking if we don't sign a CB and possibly another CM if Bentaleb goes as expected which is also gutting as would rather him that Mason or Carroll.

Is goat bashing as bad as ITK bashing?
If not... Worried by the recent ITK following on from the previous post!

@StevePil

Dier + Wimmer is more than enough backup for Toby and Jan, stop crying when you have absolutely no reason to.
Rubbish. Why should we move one of the best defensive midfielders in the league, a superstar in my opinion, to slot in as center back? That's what crap clubs do. Man city wouldn't do that, Chelsea, Utd. They would have a back up defender ready to come in if there first choice gets injured

Once we finalise the last signing that has to be the first time for a long while that we have a settled side not just before the end of august but this time before the season starts.
Although we have not brought in many new signings at least it gives us a settled squad, and that is more than can be said of some of the other clubs.

Their back up was Demichelis last year. I don't know about you but I would prefer Dier playing CB for a few games if we lose 2 CB's to injury than someone of that standard. It is very difficult to have 4 quality players for 2 positions and keep them happy.

Agree that it is good to get our business done earlier for a change, the issue I have is we leave gaps in our squad every summer and we just don't learn and it is so frustrating. The biggest issue we had last year was opening up tight defences, its what cost us the league and what have we done about that? Signed an unknown winger which is same risk as Njie, and a striker who I think will do well but could go Suarez but could equally go Kezman or Soldado - we just don't know...! we badly needed some experience in that team and I don't feel we have strengthened our biggest weakness last year. Wanyama is a great signing but if at expense of Dier to go to CB then I don't like it either. Some fans don't realise how hard top 4 or even top 6 will be this year and our squad will not be strong enough I am afraid for it especially with CL football to play. I just hope Poch can see we need to strengthen further, 3 players was never enough this summer unless they were 3 established premier league players and only 1 of them is!

With the money PL teams have these days, combined with the fact we are in the CL with a highly regarded manager and young team, i can't see any reason why we can't compete for a top talent that is considering leaving their current team in Spain.

This is the kind of signing we need now we've strengthen the squad with the 3 coming in (including French lad)
First 11er or pass.

You might be reading too much into this with our financial restrictions in place getting a special player is likely to cost a bit.
Im not expecting anything after this fella from Marseille comes in, just keeping my expectation levels low.

Your missing the point. Dier is a more than able back up, but he shouldn't be! He's an outstanding defensive mid and that should be where he stays. What do you do if Toby's injured a while and Dier needs a rest? Verts has competition with wimmer breathing down his neck. Why can't Toby?

Wanyama can play CB too.
