Whatever it is with Nike Levy's never going to restrict income, they'll be some sort of renegotiation point I'm sure when Spurs become a global superpower

I think we'd better just wait until it's announced and then decide on what it actually means.
Seems it can be construed two ways atm.

'Doesn't go down' is the key wording. Obviously
might as well put this here as well
finders on coys: for the first time ever I have some itk on this one. I'm told it will be 25m then an additional 10m for each year we qualify for the champions league. It doesn't go down if we don't qualify so it will keep going up in theory.

thats about nike obviously

Doesn't go down - Why would you say this unless the £10m bump is what becomes permanent? Goes without saying otherwise.

Keep going up in theory - Also suggests the bump may stack, however going forward getting constant CL will be tough with at least 7--8 teams capable of getting in there.

The combination clearly also does not suggest 25->35->25->35, as that would be contradictory to a) never goes down and b) can keep going up. That method is more akin to a one off performance bonus.

It's good for Nike, they have us on a low deal compared to Chelsea, even if we earn up to £55m that means likely 4 consecutive CL seasons (taking next season under UA into account), and in this climate probably 5 title challenges (including this season), and despite that we are still below Chelsea's £60m, and at that stage we'd be one of the very top teams in the PL.

If we only get in there once again then they are still paying us par at worst from their perspective, and lets be honest that's a lot more likely than 5 consecutive CL qualifications.

Anything below £10m for a home grown England international will be very poor for us. Jonjo Shelvey just went for £12m ffs.

Mason is happy to be part of our squad so we should be in no rush to push him out.

RE new GF ITK: Southampton interested in Mason as well then? Straight swap for Wanyama or do one (y)

Bit concerned about Eriksen but would hope we can fight off Italian clubs...

Latest ITK from the fox seems confusing, or is it just me?
Players holding out until after Euro's to see if they can get better deals, Eriksen situation, etc.

PLEASE LEVY NOT THE SAME BULLSHIT AGAIN

Can't see how any teams Italian league are more attractive than staying at spurs (perhaps bar Juventus)..either way selling eriksen would be a huge mistake

Rumour is Juventus are one of them. It would be a nightmare if we sold him. Would show we haven't really changed at all.

Agreed I can't see how we could buy anyone guaranteed to be better within our budget.

Isn't it the agents who are holding out until after the Euro's? It's annoying but you can totally see why. If you're an agent why agree to a 30mil deal now before the Euro's, when that player could have a great campaign and be sold for 35mil instead.

There's very few situations where they'd decrease in value but more when they'd increase so annoyingly makes sense. We've just gotta play the game.

Eriksen stuff I can understand why teams would want him, but can't see where would be good for him to go to. He's best off staying with us when you look at the other teams around who might realistically be in for him, especially if it's the Italians.

Strange that the latest ITK actually suggest Eriksen could be off, one would think that we would be able to fend off Italian clubs, even Juve at least for another season. Unless Poch is actually okay with selling him.... Would be hard to replace him tho and we would need to spend big moneys.

My biggest thought with the potential Nike "stacking" deal was the pressure it potentially puts on us to continue to perform - it is quite the gamble in my eyes. Say we qualify for CL year after year so that the deal is worth 75m a year at the end of the deal. Our negotiating power for our next kit deal will be tremendous, putting us in pole position to have one of the best kit deals in football. However, if we fail to qualify for CL again (honestly, I don't see it - I think we are built to be consistent contenders), then it could stagnate us on the kit income side of things to hang around 25m a year while the other clubs will surely continue to climb. I'm not entirely fixated on earning the most income possible from every revenue source as some BSoDL are on here, but I can quickly acknowledge the need to stay competitive financially in a transfer market we may not be able to wheel and deal through as astutely as we have in the past.
