Is the Wembley announcement regarding next seasons cl only, ie not about confirming we will play there for our year away?

I know London Underground/TfL have been told to plan for 'events' at Wembley for alternate weeks from next summer (2017) - when I dug into this a little it is for football and will be capped around the 50,000 mark as the infrastructure there cannot take the full capacity so frequently. So it seems Spurs ARE on their way to Wembley.

might as well put this here as well
finders on coys: for the first time ever I have some itk on this one. I'm told it will be 25m then an additional 10m for each year we qualify for the champions league. It doesn't go down if we don't qualify so it will keep going up in theory.

thats about nike obviously

That makes sense. So £35 mill per year if we are in Champions League. Given that UA pay us £10 mill per year it appears to be a good deal. We don't yet have the recent record of success of a Chelscum or manoo.

Not absolutely clear what this means. Does this mean that it would be £35m per year for the contract length (5 years?) assuming we qualify, or does it mean £25m, £35m, £45m, £55m, £65m? It's the last bit about it keep on going up that sounds good.

Edit - in addition if we do get to say £35m will it then stay at this level or will it then revert to £25m?
I probably suspect £35m for the length of the contract based upon us being in the CL, but am not absolutely sure.

The way that it's worded implies £10m more for each CL qualification. So first year £25m, if we qualify the following year it will be £35m. If we qualify the next year, it goes up to £45m, if we don't it remains at £35m, etc.

I read it as being £25m per annum but £35m every time we are in the CL

"Won't go down but will keep going up". (From £25m base line)

It may be £10m in total. So. £35m year dosnt become £45m, or £55m per year, it's the total length of the deal. I doubt it would potentially be £65m per season, it will be £65m total.

An additional £10m for each year. If you qualify one time that's £10m, twice is £20m. Only goes up not down implies it sticks at the level if we don't qualify.

That's the simplest reading.

Same - i see it as £25m minimum with £35m for CL seasons over 5 years - it would be great if it was cumulative but that sounds a bit optimistic!
This deal, plus the additional income from the new stadium (when finished) and CL revenues, PLUS naming rights and new shirt sponsors as that deal ends AND the increased TV rights money... Levy's balls must be twitching!

Edit- having read Nic's re-reading, I think that could actually be the case. If so, that's a great deal!

Ah so I see SC is over complicating things again. £25m per(which is kinda low, IMO). £35m for every year we make CL. Pretty easy to follow.

Can see it being this way, Levy would want to get closer to Chelsea's income, but for Nike to agree with that we'dhave to meet performance objectives. If we establish ourselves in the CL for the next 3-4 years then we will have grown in stature enough to demand £40-50m a year.

Chelsea's success on the pitch in the last 10 years rightly earns them more, although Nike may regret it if Chelsea do a Utd from here, especially as they probably have a much lesser worldwide fanbase to draw sales from. Adidas have only got 6 CL group stage games and an FA Cup out of Utd in terms of on pitch success for their record deal, I'm sure they were hoping for more.

He clearly says 'it will keep going up' if we qualify for the CL. If it's going to 'keep going up' then it's £35m the first time we qualify, then £45m etc. etc.
