Would Lemar come straight into our first 11? Genuine question, don't know.

He can compare himself with our front guys, would play well with them. Brings something different first of all.
But in a fully fit Spurs squad he rides the bench in my opinion.

its almost a bad thing having as good a first 11 as we have in that it'll take an extremely good player to improve it. These players don't come cheap hence having adequate cover for when the injuries come around is just as important.
We all want that superstar signing but we'll never pay the wages needed so we just need to keep patient and trust in 'the project'.
It does feel like we'll always be on the outside looking in though but if grey fox and jj aren't despondent then neither should we be.

Mawson and Sessegnon wouldn't be anywhere near enough.

Can go either way, just as with signing big names. However, Mawson and Sessegnon is of same profile as Dier and Dele Alli when we signed them. For all the frustration we have of our transfer signing men, they perform better than everyone else in the Premier League with a far lower budget than the top clubs.

Remember, we're financially closer to West Ham than the absolute richest in the league.

People getting depressed about the Lemar link to Arse, I also remember many ready to slit their writs when we supposedly missed out on Arshavin when he went there.........look how that turned out

I think we just need to trust the club, we don't know what's going on behind the scenes

I/we should take a balanced view with a dose of a reality check. I fully respect all itk's to the max. I believe what they say, and can understand why there sometimes may seem conflicting with another itk, as a lot of it is opinion based upon what they have seen/heard.

My view is we cannot engage in a bidding war that exceeds 27m and growing. We may well of thought we could initially of done a deal below that figure. Especially now, we cannot accept to pay a fee of 30m plus, with wages of 90-100k pw, plus bonuses. You have to matching on wages of 150k (or near) hypothetically speaking.

The clever part comes on players that have a ceiling value of circa 15m. The selling club may accept a quick deal at 18m. This is where we should be decisive, rather than trying to squeeze the selling club out. I believe we will sign players, with names we have to google possibly, along with YouTube videos, and FM check up to work out how good that player is.

The problem is if we set our sights, due to the reasons I have explained. This being the case, comes with added risks, accepting the fact that all transfers are risks. With your rivals 'blowing you out the water' on same targets, we then have to be more clinical on our achievable targets. This is where some fine tuning needs to be done.

There is absolutely no way that anyone can convince me that come the end of June, going into early July, to of not announced a signing. And here I would not classify a GK a key signing. I would call that concerning. Here is where you would hear the famous mantra; 'the club is working hard behind the scenes'.

We have heard the 'Calm down its way too early' too many times imo. With Zaha, Lemar etc off the table I cant even think of any other decent targets that we could get. Very disappointing news to wake up to.

Yeah only shit players left now

Not trying to single you out mate but the amount of moaning in here is just ludicrous

Until he signs for Arsenal there's still hope. JJ might just have heard that as it stands it looks like he favours a move there. Things change all the time though

JJ disagreed with my rather optimistic post.

This one's done peeps, he's a gooner

This I don't understand either, I know we will be paying rent but clearly not expecting to sell out Wembley as this and the move to new stadium I thought we would extend wages, either that or Levy will never change in this area even when we get into the new stadium.... he has done wonders so far for us but lets hope with the money in the league now this could be where he starts to get exposed

Player contracts are not for one year, they commit you to 4-5 years of expenditure. The stadium costs are still unknown, as are the revenues once it has opened. What lunatic would commit to doubling our salary bill, based on one year with an increased turnover, from which we must deduct an unknown amount of rent?

Until we have a secure, long term increase in our revenue, the club will not increase salaries to more than approx. 55% of existing turnover.

The shit Start meant we were adrift of the leaders from the getgo. Our second place finish owed everything to our performances from December onwards. Unfortunately we were coming from too far behind.

There was no "shit start" last season. This is a myth/factoid that is getting out of hand.

In our first seven matches, we won 5, drew 2, lost 0: 2nd place.

Then there was a frustrating series of several draws.

However, after our first twenty matches, we had won 12, drawn 6, lost 2: 3rd place.

One of our best starts in the last several decades.

As I've said we were effectively out of the title hunt before Xmas. Our second half of the season was 53 from a possible 63 and we were never really title contenders. It also shows why I'll informed Countdown presenters were ignorant when calling us legends.

The same situation arose when Leicester won the title. We were just coming from too far back to ever be considered serious title contenders. We must take our strong finish into next season as others will be strengthening again.

Interesting where we go after Lemar, can't think of any other links apart from Zaha. I expect we'll have some ITK soon (probably cryptic) if we have indeed moved on.

I wish we'd go balls deep for Insgine, he would be the ideal signing for our attack in my opinion. But I can't see it. As you say it's going to be interesting, can't help but feel we will end up with Grey as our attacking addition.

Seen some Suso links in the past few days, have ITK's mentioned him or is it paper talk?

Hi all

I have some ITK that has been verified and approved by A&C this morning.

Was a mates for a BBQ last night and her family are big Spurs fans.
Her old man is mates with Alfie Mawson's dad, Gary I believe, who's a market trader in Ealing, they have known each other for ages.
Anyways they had a family funeral last week (sadly) and my mates Dad was told by Gary they have an offer on the table from us that they are seriously considering, the bid is £15million.

A pinch of salt and all that however, she was adamant!

Cheers

Do people think that a 'big name' is something we will attract or Poch will go for this summer? Seems like whenever we're linked with so it gets poo poo'd. I'm not saying it's a 100% necessity, but I still think it's important due to all other big teams seemingly doing so but also because it further shows the current players that this is the club to be at. I don't mean that incoming players is the only variable to determine that of course but I do personally think it helps.

I though Stuart Goddard was adamant
