If it is done I would imagine that it would be 5m tops. This is the figure that was set by levy when Harry said he wanted him. 2 players on loan? If true I'd say bostock (because they wanted him before) and Harry Kane !

Those 2 would never be the same in my eyes, like seeing your girlfriend raped by mutated inbreds...

A&C spot on with heard all this before about the show piece singing.
Since the internet started, I've trawled spurs sites every window, and always there have been rumours of something big about to happen.
Regardles of who we signed there was always a bigger catch that we were reeling in...normally one of the top 5 players in the world. To me Adebayor is as good as we can get this year, and he is good. Its like my 2 year old daughter, whatever I buy her an Ice cream she has a lick, then gets bored and wants something better.
To non spurs fans we are not really a very big club, we have not won our domestic league since Harold Macmillan was PM, although now we have the first Etonian as PM since Macmillan so maybe this is a sign of a return to the glory days (or not). Maybe Levy can use this when speaking to Kaka's people, as kaka ponders away trips to Shamrock rovers on a 1/3 rd of the wages he is on.
Sir Alec Douglas-Home went to Eton.

Will be disappointed if getting Parker means we miss out on Diarra. Albeit both players would improve our squad, Diarra would be my preference by a long margin, and I just can't see us buying both Parker AND Diarra.

I had considered that the Parker news was maybe put out to force Diarra's hand but it seems not - so far this morning at least.
Could be a perm move to the Spammers and at present, I'd be more than happy to swap JJ or Bentley for Scotty.

I'm just concerned about the Lass deal now though - I don't really see the need for them both. How much did Jenas and Bents play last season? What about the likes of Livermore and Carroll? The latter especially impressed me the other night and I'd be happy with either being used here and there next season.

I like Parker and to me, he seems more of a battler, which is what we need quite often.

Still want another striker yet!

It sounds stupid and I'm shocked at myself but...I'm not sure I'd want Kaka (whose name keeps cropping up).
I want to keep building the team and I'm not convinced he'd do us good.

It's not that crazy, if it's understood that Kaka and Real Madrid are just using us to get him back up to full fitness until Jan, when he goes back to Madrid in time for the knockout rounds of the Champion's League.

Wouldn't he then be cup tied? That's if we played him in Europa of course

I'm sure that's not something you really need to worry about.

I think Diarra is the better player but Parker is still an improvement on what we've got so is still a good signing if it happens. I wouldn't rule out both coming in but that would probably mean one of Hudd or Modders leaving.

hope this isn't another loan deal, seems every player we're getting linked with is on a loan deal. its one thing making the squad better but if they are all on loan whats the point? as it means next season we're back to square one and unless we make top 4 the season would be pointless as such

Maybe Huddlestone's fitness and recovery from his ankle problem is still a question mark?

A midfield of Modric, Parker, Diarra, Sandro and Huddlestone would be out of this world but I can't imagine any 2 or 3 of those not being involved.

I'd hate to see Huddlestone go but neither his assists/key contributions and his defensive work are better respectively than those other 4.

That said if you are away from home and you play Diarra and Parker or Diarra and Parker and Sandro...jesus that a tough midfield to play against!

I know mate but the trouble is, nothing would surprise me at Spurs.
However improbable, Levy's just the man with the bollocks to try for it and if you don't ask, you don't get.
As someone mentioned, it could be seen to suit all parties:shrug:

Fuck it - I'm being sucked in again, aren't I?!

That's my worry but looked at another way, they could help get us to where we need to be, to be able to attract the calibre of players that we need to enable us to stay there. If you see what I mean.
It does restrict our squad evolution though.

Would be a bit underwhelmed if our big signing is Parker. If we're looking for a DM and can't get Parker IMHO we should be looking at players like M'Vila and Moussa Sissoko. Then again, Parker is homegrown which is always nice I suppose. He's got some nice leadership qualities that we sort of lack aswell.

What a piss take.

There are lost tribes in deepest , darkest South American rain forests that were aware of our interest in Adebayor and Leandro. Why the fuck would he need to be cryptic about it?

And I thought he said blue & yellow would convince Modric to stay? I can't imagine Modric looking at some fairly unknown Brazilian kid coming in and saying "yep...this is the club for me."
