I have a horrible feeling we have our fingers in a lot of pies, probably not commiting enough time to any one deal and are probably dicking around a number of clubs.

Deadline day deals for Owen and Carvalho anyone?!

Seriously though, if we got Lloris, m'vila, Dembele and willian, that's a fantastic window!

We probably do have our fingers in a lot of pies, but i would rather this than in 1 and that club to dick us about and then us not having another option and then having to buy Owen or Carvalho... if we have other options (fingers in the pies) then we should still have a chance of signing someone better.

I've added a transfer window countdown to the index pages, can someone check it's correct?. It's set to countdown to 11pm on 31st but not sure if it's set to UTC or BST.

It is our responsibility as to whether we get dicked about now. The Modric deal is done. We have the money in and the money from the other Croats and "SlipFrom". We should be getting more money in too, so really, there is no excuse. The targets are drawn, Levy, work your magic.

Exciting week ahead methinks. I'm very concerned now for the first time this window, but I think that's mainly because I saw how relatively toothless we looked without Modric on the pitch on Saturday. That coupled with how poor we were without Adebayor makes me worry that our squad is looking very thin.

We appear to be looking at all the right positions (GK, CM, Wide Player and Striker) but it's now a huge amount of business to try and do in 4 days. I'm not naive enough to think it's easy to get deals done early in the window (unless you're prepared to splash the cash) but this strategy of leaving it late is always risky. We've seen it go well (VdV) and terribly (Rasiak/Frazier Campbell) so it's likely to be a jittery week.

In Levy I trust...for now.

Welcome people to the longest 4 days of your life.
Expect highs, expect lows, expect razor blades on wrists and knives on testicles.
Will levy prove to be a tactical genius in his negotiations or will it be a wasted opportunity.
Good luck to you all as i don't think I'll be able to handle it. I have taken 4 vallium and half a bottle of rum, that should knock me out till tomorrow lunchtime.
Good luck to you all you masochistic psychopaths.

We should stop wasting our time with Moutinho. They aren't interested in selling unless it's near the buyout. He's not worth that, we're not going to pay that & they aren't going to sell unless they get that

No Bojan please

Way too small for the Premiership, Tom Carroll looks like a brick shithouse compared with him, no way could he handle the premiership
I think looks can deceive ....no one thought modrat would be up to the premier league physically....and that one didnt turn out too bad

Welcome to levy town...population 1

Bit harsh on Levy, there's only so much a club can expect for a player who has been playing in the Ukrainian league for the last few years - at £12m he must be on of, if not the, most expensive players sold by a Ukrainian club.

I think he is worth that to us. A player that knows how AVB wants his teams to work, and a player that is most similar to Modric out of all the apparent options avialble. I'm not convinced that Dembele or M'Vila for example, have the work rate and guile combination that Moutinho does - they are a bit more high energy and powerful.

Does it strike anyone else as odd that we are apparently willing to pay without demur the fourth-highest fee ever for a keeper yet put in a derisory offer for Willan?

I'm worried about our striker options. If LD is no longer a possibility and yesterdays ITK about not going for an out and out forward true, where does that leave us in Jan when Ade goes to the ACN or even worse he or JD get injured, there are no options from the bench when thingsare not working? Kane in my mind needs another loan move and is hardly a game changer.

Yes there are people who could plug the gap for a second half here or match there but not for 4 or 5 weeks. One of our big problems for a while has been there are only 4 players in our squad who will get us 10 or more goals in a season.

Surely, surely we cannot wait until Friday?

We contact said selling club and finally say "we will pay your asking price for your best player", but selling club then says "no way, it's gone up, we haven't got time to find a replacement. Over the odds or not even for sale now".

It's got to be have done by now surely?

No because the Willian deal seems opportunistic. He wants to leave so Levy probably thinks he has leverage.

Still think we will get berba. It will be a stropout between him and ade as who can look the laziest. Will be our greatest ever strikeforce.
