This is about the time I put SC in its place wrt winning, but i wont do it since i learned last time i did most of you are lost causes.

But ill just say this, what franchises are the most famous in the world? How many titles do they have? Eeeeeeexactly.

As for Vertonghen, yeah right. They already spent like 140m on 4 players. You think they're going to push a 200m expenditure for 5?(levy will ask alot more than what chelsea got for that awfully shit twat from psg). Laughable.

Think this should be in the self righteous thread.

Now that MoPo has seen what all our guys can do in a a competitive game maybe he will change his mind about 1 or 2. I know I have!

I rated his agree, but I don't agree entirely.

You're right though, realistically, that's the only way it will happen. If there is a takeover as some are suggesting, it's going to be a very nervy time on here as we wait to see who the new owners are and what their intentions and ambition amount to.

The ideal scenario obviously would be someone to come in and throw money around, but I think although it may bring success, I would probably fall out of love with the club to some (if only minor) extent.

I agree with this to a certain extent, but although business is business I would hope that being a Spurs fan, Lewis would not sell Tottenham "Down the River"

Brilliant... A new owner... (maybe)

No thank you, we just got pooch, things look promising, sugar daddies want instant success, managers/coach are usually the first casualty.

Totally agree with @chinaman with winning with honour.

You reckon £60m for Verts? I think he'd go for £25m...

I'm genuinely asking, is there itk on Vertonghen? I looked through the thread and couldn't find it. I literally just.... JUST got my 3rd kit yesterday and it's Vertonghen. I would be properly pissed

A league title and a few other trophies would soften most peoples stance.

Agree, I certainly wouldn't turn my back on the club if we became the new City, though a little bit of my love for Spurs, and what it means to be a Spurs fan (hilarious failure nine times out of ten), would die.

This is so true. Speak to any Man City fan now and they don't give a toss about the money anymore. At the beginning there were a few rumblings for sure but a few trophies later and they are all singing the same song.
Don't forget we spent quite a few quid on the 60/61 team but that's rarely mentioned anymore.
History will just remember the trophies.

This close to deadline day it would have to be a 40m offer at least. Thing is, Utd are probably that desperate in which case we would be looking at getting a replacement sharpish as well if he were to go. Are they deploying the Baldini? Or could we cope with fazio/kaboul/vlad until bidding for Moreno in January. Could explain what's holding off Vlad leaving.

Or it could be a load of crap.

I'd find it very hard to support the club if we become like Man City and Co.

If I did support it, I'd be the biggest hypocrite ever.

I agree 100%, however, how long will it until all the top flight clubs are owned by playboy billionaires? Then at least the playing field (financially) would be similar. But I don't want to be man city, or Chelsea, i quite like being the nearly men, the thrill of "this year we will break the top 4" etc..

Saying that, aren't we already owned by a multi billionaire?! Lewis is worth about £4billion as it is!

Hertyid on COYS in relation to Wellbeck:

"Arsenal more likely than us"

Is this new? I'm sure he said something similar recently. I've actually come round to the idea of signing Welbeck. He's not a great goal threat but all other aspects of his game are pretty good for a squad No.9/WF.

Until one leaves, it's fair to say any of the old CB crew could go. You would think not Vertonghen, but there was talk earlier in the summer that Utd had communicated with him last year. Unlikely? Maybe. Impossible? Certainly not.

If at some point we won the League with Joe and Dan still at the helm having spent a lot less than the likes of Chelski and Shitty, our bragging rights would be legendary. That's the style in which I'd relish to win.

Arsenal can offer Welbeck a realistic chance of playing as centre forward. It's only a loan deal and they're woefully strong of options. Reportedly, he's very keen to leave UTD for a club who'd play him as striker.

We'd likely view him as LWF.

If David Luiz = 50m then Vertonghen > 60m

That's not stupid - it's maths (and conforming to the precedent that PSG have set)

Come to think of it, I think you're right and that piece from Hertyid was a few days ago, before Wenger rubbished them signing Welbeck.
