The fact that Poch is going to wait till after window closes before deciding on a captain suggests he is confident of new arrivals, otherwise why wait before appointing one
Or he is not sure on outgoings yet Dawson gone maybe Kaboul and who knows who else?

I'd be surprised if we're in for another high profile signing.

But if we don't get MS, surely we have money then to spend and need an alternative option to him and possibly also another attacking player?

If for example we got some last minute bids for the likes of Soldado, Paulinho, Townsend etc.. we would probably want to have a player or two lined up or at least in discussions with on some level to bring in to replace the outgoing.

On paper that looks great, however Jans renewal of contract is the only one that hasn't been announced by the OS.

I'm not sure why the MS deal would be sensitive, everyone knows about this already. I would assume that JJ doesn't want the names we are talking to in addition to MS to get into the press, last thing we need is another Willian scenario occuring (although Eriksen was a far better signing that Willian, so that kinda worked out for us IMO).

Ooooh, i got a 'Winner' rating from JJ on this, read into that what you will... ;)

I'll be really happy with us just signing MS. Hopefully that would give us the right mix. Maybe we'll add J-Rod & Moreno in January? But it doesn't stop us dreaming of a Levy special on Deadline Day Special. Maybe a loan from our partners in Madrid? Maybe somebody from France (PSG/Monaco)?

Is Levy a singer?

Did he say that? If so, it's got to be Schneiderlin and he'll be captain.

I'm quite content to see the window out with no more signings but if we end up with a few more I'll be ecstatic. Starting to be really optimistic with the season, I'm sure Spurs will be able to bring me back to down reality soon enough :D.

If soldado is off, then what JJ has said is understandable considering the scum may be after a new cf. It may be that we're after someone that nobody has thought of!!

We need to prioritize a LWF as a position that needs adding. If Chadli gets hurt, which happened last season, we will be forced to start Lennon/Townsend, who simply don't have enough end product to work in a system that relies on the front 4 all having goal scoring capabilities. Why take the risk and wait for a January deal that may never happen? That window has proven far more difficult for Levy to get deals done in.

Schneiderlin and Remy in, with Sandro, Chiriches, and Townsend out leaves us with the best squad in the history of the club with no net outlay. Those two French internationals would settle quickly in our side and would give us another ball winner in the midfield and a player with actual end product.

I don't know what the first sentence has to do with the second; I thought it was fairly clear he meant new names?

If Townsend were to move on for, say, 12 million, our academy in the last two years would have given us over £30 million in income, when you factor in the Livermore, Caulker, Smith, Dawkins and Luongo sales. That's a Lamela, or 2.5 Eriksen's.

That is seriously impressive, and shows the benefits of good youth coaching/facilities, even if the players aren't at the level required to play for Spurs. Odds are though, that we'll get one or two through who are, in the next few years.

Thats a realy good way of looking at it. It's very easy to assume that becasue the players arent playing for our first team that we are not churning out good players.

Exactly, a new cf, a new name in the mix.

Despite the manager quite clearly stating that RS is not going anywhere?

I think it would be more likely that it is a Wingéd Forward (and not one at Bobby's expense).
