So the club is happy to lose 26 goals, and the rotation provided by Bale and Vinicius without bringing in any replacements at all? I can't fathom the negligence to be honest. That's just mental.

Missing the champions league every year will cost us a lot more then the 40 mill it'd take to replace them too, you've got to spend money to make money.

It's all Romario's fault. He was the genesis for my belief in Fab! But seriously, the ITK points to a process that is constantly changing in terms of characters. motivation and gamesmanship. Our window has been far better than most clubs but not as good as we had expected/hoped due to the process changing. From the outside, it look's like Fab's work for the medium term is outstanding, with the short term being good. Some of the frustration is understandable is that the results can be interpreted as more of the same. But the results to date can also be interpreted differently since it is such a different transfer window. It is inarguable that there are a couple major issues with the squad but only those in the negotiations know the cost benefit analysis going on because it is more than just one player/position under consideration. What the ITK's do for us is give us a momentary glimpse as to what is happening in the process at that moment so pinning one's hopes or worse, expectations on those glimpses misses the fact that the process is so dynamic.

Oh and we were told time and again that Tomiyasu was done. And here we are on the verge of signing Emerson ?‍♂️ (If we can sell Doherty / Aurier)

How many players were we happy to jettison before Poch arrived? Walker, Rose, Dembele maybe even Jan, they'd underperformed with a few managers. Then came along a coach who saw the potential anf moulded them into our best team in decades.
The jury has always been out for me on Sanchez, Dier, Bergwijn because they've played in shit teams under 2 disinterested coaches.
Monchi doesn't get much wrong and he wants Sanchez, I for one am happy to see how a few careers progress this year.
We have close to 7 million posts on here. Go find me one where someone wanted to get rid of any of them under AVB. We've enough idiots on here you'll probably manage it! Suggesting that we were clamouring to get rid of Dembeleat any stage is just re-writing history.
Rose:
39 votes for Rose
and the reaction when Rose signed a new contract when Poch arrived...

Walker:
I wouldn't hesitate to sell him whilst his stock is high as whilst physically he is a fine specimen, I just don't see the technique, skill-set and footballing brain to be the player some people think he is/will be.

I don't need to be pointed out winning young PotY and nor do I use that a true gauge of a player's calibre - I have seen enough of him to make my mind up that he is lacking in the attributes that I consider to be crucial for long term success at the highest level which is where we are aspiring to.

Dembele:
Lloris Vertonghen Dawson Kaboul walker Thiago Sandro Moutinho Lennon. Bale Benteke

Thiago 13 Mil
Moutinho 23 mil.

Sell Dembele 15 mil Bae 7 mil.

But nothing suggests that we want one? We weren't linked with any 10 by reliable sources.
We can play with Lo Celso and/or Ndombele. Then creativity won't be an issue.
Lo Celso is no nr 10, Sure Ndombele can do that to some degree, but what makes you think he will chang? The nr 10 will still need to have high work rate and defend the first line , 3 managers have now given up on him. You can not play with Høibjerg and Skip as shield and Dele as box to box in all games, you saw how little creativity we had against Watford.

This setup at home made it sour as F last year on these forums and same will happen again. We need a creative option. When we are banging against the likes of Burnley at home and pass side to side you will quickly understand the need for a box opener. Sure if 3rd times the lucky season for Ndombele we will be ok, but man i hate that lazy body language without the ball, so i have my doubts

Mid July - “Not being in the champions league is no longer acceptable”

End of August - Harry you’re our lone striker for 60 games this season.

I thought we have an agreement since June with Aouar, we don’t have to get one out just demote a player out of the squad
He would be a replacement for Ndombele though. We're not just going to demote one of our highest wage earners, the player brought in on the club's record transfer fee, out of the squad. His value would just deteriorate further and he'd be just as difficult to move to a new club next summer. Since we can't move Ndombele we're going to have to give him a chance to reintegrate and to improve his situation.

It'll be up to him to meet Nuno's fitness requirements. It's possible he won't ever manage it and so won't play in significant matches, but we don't have the resources to just send such an important asset to the reserves and bring in a new player to take his spot in the first team.

It’s vital we get another attacking body in.
A wing forward or striker.
I refuse to believe the club will leave us short there.
So hopefully Emerson and a forward and I’d be content.

We simply have to. History shows us what happens when we don’t. We end up having to play Dele as a false nine for example. I swear people’s memories are unbelievably short.

Those posters happy with the window have no leg to stand on during the season when it comes to bite us on the arse if they then start complaining.

“Negligence“.

The camel is extra fiery tonight.

12 Premier league goals (as they’re more relevant here).

11 from Bale. 1 from CV.

Dele has 1 more goal than he did last year with, *checks notes*, 1

You would hope Lucas and Berg would muster more than the 4 they got last year.

Your point is noted, however it is super super dramatic when you take away the Daily Express style use of stat.

Aforementioned demoted player is an “asset”, just casting them aside is suicidal from a business perspective (yeah, sadly that’s what football is now) so you can’t really do that

-Kept Kane
-Replaced Alderweireld with Romero
-Managed to swap Lamela for a highly rated youngster in Gil
-Signed another highly rated kid in Pape Sarr
-About to replace Aurier with a superior player in Emerson
-Could still sign another forward in the next 24 hours

Great transfer window - club with a plan.

That is a Gooner's take on our window so far on Arsemania. They've spent £130m and are in meltdown over their window.

You could add the fact we got money for Sissoko, signed Son to a longer contract and have brought Lloris' replacement. All in one window. And it hasn't closed yet.

If the last two happens then yes we're in a much better place than last season

There is a lot dependent upon outgoings. Emerson may well be the case as well. I was merely suggesting that with Aurier, I would think signing someone in a position where the player will be gone in a year, is not the end of the world. Agreeing the deal today, rather than tomorrow, would kneecap any fee for Aurier or Doherty. What we can't do is bring in Emerson/Tomiyasu, play Tanganga and sit both Doherty and Aurier. As I stated, it is not as easy as some pretend.

Also, this is not fantasy football. Suggesting Coutinho and Lenglet sounds awesome. There is the little matter of neither expressing any desire to come to Spurs, and whether or not Nuno even wants them, and whether or not the player holding down the roster spot is willing to go. Ndombele wants to go on his terms - none of those teams want him, and who could blame them.

Just like we would not sell Kane, Wolves are not required to sell Traore. We are miffed when the "bigger" clubs try to/or succeed in getting our better players, yet believe all of the "smaller" clubs should just roll over because we showed up.

Good on us and good on Wolves. There is always a price. 150M GBP and Kane would have been sold. Not for 100M. Offer 60M for Traore (not saying we'd do it) and off he goes. It's how the market works.

Certain clubs still have their financiers on their backs - Spurs are not one of those teams. I expect that players will move tomorrow out of financial necessity. Whether THFC can take advantage or not, is a whole other thing. Lots of moving parts on all deals.

Ecstatic we have signed Romero, Gollini, Gil and Sarr and have Skipp, Sessegnon back in the fold.
