Wrt JJ saying someone was talking shit about Poch being frustrated feeling like he isnt being backed, Hercules illuded to this a few days ago. So perhaps the feeling from the club and the manager are vastly different. I wouldnt be surprised if Poch was frustrated. He wants 4 more players and there is 1.5 days left in the window thanks to Levy pissing about for the umpteenth transfer window.. We'll be lucky to get 2 over the line in that time and they are all going to be defenders. Do we realy think Poch wouldnt be frustrated? If I were Poch and i identified these needs at the beginning of the window, i'd be absolutely infuriated. It's natural.
I think I'll stick with what JJ said about how Poch feels rather than your take of the situation Hank

The thing that staggers me is that our method of transfer dealings is unnecessarily high risk.
It was effective in the past when clubs were desperate for cash, but now everyone is pretty solid financially and in no need to sell. I am excited to hear that we want 3 more in, but the gaps have been their to fill since the window opened. If we fail to pull this off I'm not certain even a new stadium will keep our talent motivated... And what real benefit has this delayed tactic bought us?

  • hertyid again
When was the last time a PL club had a major transfer rejected by the Home Office on the grounds of work permit denial?

When was the last time a club tried a player who has/had an outstanding charge for assaulting a police officer?

But yes, it does seem like a lot of income tax to turn away...

When was the last time a footballer delivered the People's Elbow on a copper prior to applying for a visa? It's not really a moot point that can be dismissed as hertyid is trying to there, Aurier has already been refused entry to the UK previously, when PSG were playing Arsenal - so it's not like he hasn't been done dirty by your Maj before.

Worrying thing for me if that is the possible list of targets is that there are no attacking players that can come and help the team right now. If the mystery player is also a defender I will totally lose it
I agree, you would think both the Chelsea and Burnley games showed the manager and chairman that we are struggling to finish games off and we need attacking options. And if you look at our Bench compared to our rivals and the situation looks even worse! Sorry with CL and PL and Cups to play for we have not invested enough in this team to compete. Walker obviously had spoken to the manager and worked this out, and both he and Rose have come out and said as much - and been slated, let's see what the majority say after tomorrow when the usual poll goes up on was this a good window of not. I think we have all been here before so if will be no surprise. I really thought after the last two years Levy would drum up more investment and kick on. But it would seem he has been unable to do that and is willing to halt the progress we have made? Surly he doesn't believe we can up our game again this season with no investment when everyone around us does, I know he is not that stupid so he must have a longer term plan and hopes that we can finish in top 6 with the squad we have after the window and that is enough?

exactly, that's why I don't understand some of the worry that we're leaving it all too late.
Because those teams almost certainly need to get replacements in and if they can't probably won't release the player we want. Leaving plan b, c or d with little time and probably exactly the same situation.

Again positive stuff no question and hoping it comes off but I can't help thinking we will run out of time on securing that amount if deals.
Been here so many times before and failed. Poch won't give another chance. He must have offers aplenty for elsewhere. Still trying to believe.

I just don't understand why this all has to culminate with just 36hrs to go, its fraught with danger. Levy needs to have a virtual end of window to work towards, like 3 weeks a go.
