Huntelaar never got a fair chance at Real and at AC he was played out of position when he occasionally got a start.

Last season he started with a hot streak, cooled down then had niggling injuries that kept him out for periods.

He's an upgrade on all the strikers.

2 years ago everyone was creaming themselves over signing huntelaar. It's ridiculous that almost everyone thinks he's not good enough for us now.

I'd take him in a heartbeat.
Yeh, but not for twenty-odd million

The more I think over it the more I think Huntelaar could be great business, not at £25 million Euro though, more like £12 to £15 million would be realistic.

Diarra deal is most likely being held up untill we sell players because we got no cash...Harry's said it himself, that we need to sell before we buy. Just makes you wonder where all our cash from CL went....im thinking lawyers for a certain stadium in east london

We need to sell before we buy because of the 25 man squad rule, not because we're broke. As always, we're minted if the right player is available.

Huntelaar has scored 12 goals for Holland since 2010, pretty decent return

If what I got told last night is true...we are really not 'minted' as you put it

The only way Adebayor will happen is if Madrid just never make a move for him.

The way Mourinho was speaking about him yesterday i fully expect them to sign him at the end of the window as they know city will want rid and will accept a minimal offer from Madrid.

I really do think we could end up with Benzema on loan.
Diarra in and Benzema loaned is also possible...i just get the feeling its more Huguain

I'm inclined to agree. He has had a wretched few years but you don't become a bad player over night. He clearly has a goal scoring instinct as RM and AC Milan obviously saw fit to spend on him.

Harry is the kind "arm round the shoulder" manager that could heal his ego and get him back at the level of previous years, its not like he is old.

Not my first choice and I would like a more mobile, intelligent, rounded striker to link with him/ VDV subject to how we line up but I'd be reasonably happy with him if the price reflected the element of a gamble we'd be taking on him.

International record means nothing, ask Keane.

Huntelaar is a shadow of what he used to be. Not any better than what we currently have.

Huntelaar would be a great signing at the right price. If we could get him for £10m or so I would be very happy. However, £20m would be far too much for someone who has not been at the top level for a good few years now.

Care to share?

What I meant is that If Levy could sign a player for £25 mil who he was confident wouldn't depreciate in value he'd do it no problem. He's a businessman and it's an investment.

BUT its two seasons encounting!

SO WHY can't Harry for this to Defoe, Keano or even GIO?

but I'd be reasonably happy with him if the price reflected the element of a gamble we'd be taking on him.
No more than 10million

Not a chance. Higuain is a machine. He scores so many goals its unreal.

Mourinho does not like Benzema at all and it would be a no brainer for me that mow Mourinho is actually in control of incomings and outgoings that he will look to offload Benzema and bring in his own replacments

So if we have to sell before we buy? How many players do we currently have in our squad? 30?

I was suprised that certain deals have gone through cheap because agents are trying to engineer big money moves. So you have answered that yourself. Why did they go through cheap? i dont know; thats why i was suprised.

I always state what is fact an opinion but maybe because i myself spent 6 years coaching for numerous professional teams at youth level, spent a few years playing lower league and semi pro football, have a good catologue of friends that play in leagues from Premiership down to non league (that mods know about and are not my main source) and have been around football for longer than most; i believe my opinions are pretty valid and strong.

I havent tried to fob anybody off and will answer anything you want.

Why deals went through cheap, when there is a general feeling that agents are trying to squeeze money out while they can - I asked you opinion, is all. I wasn't trying to knock you or score points.

I never questioned your footballing knowledge, upon which you based your opinions. I showed you how you sometimes conflate opinion and ITK and asked if you understood how that could be confusing. For what it is worth, I am qualified at post post-graduate level in two different faculties, so like to think I am reasonably good at formulating my posts; and, on the footballing side, my father and uncles all played at a reasonable level, one of my uncles played for Derby and Everton, and was capped full international level, and I grew up going to games with them and discussing what was going on - but that isn't the point, because, as I said, I never questioned the validity of your opinions, just your habit of conflating opinion and ITK in a confusing fashion.

You may not have tried to fob people off, but it does seem like that at times. I asked you why it was that Redknapp had confirmed our interest in certain players (Rossi, Adebayor), and yet you said you had heard nothing about any interest. You gave me two responses that didn't answer this at all (believe me, I would have known if they had), and then after my third post, didn't even respond even though you were still online. And the funny thing is, like Mr Pink, maybe I was being pedantic, and if you had reformulated your statement to read something like "I haven't heard anything about these deals being onoing from my sources, but, of course, I am aware that Redknapp has stated the clubs interest" - I would have been more than happy with your response. But you didn't. You gave me two responses that did anything but clarify, and then didn't respond. Likewise, here, Mr Pink was very clear about what he was asking you, and it was primarily about clarification of a point, and your response was to act as though he had accussed you of being pedantic. I repeat, you may not be intending to fob people off, but if they take the time to ask direct questions and your responses are not direct answers it will seem like you are fobbing them off. And your reponse to my pointing out that you sometimes seem to conflate opinion with ITK was to give me a long list of your footballing accomplishments to add gravitas to your opinions, just doesn't seem to show any uderstanding of what you were being asked. Maybe you aren't doing this on purpose - but you need to actually think carefully about what is being asked before answering. That's some free advice.
