Im sure given our current crop and lack of sigings we would all happily take him back though!

I could forgive him yes, and I'm sure those who think they couldn't would soon forget that when he started scoring for us, not going to happen though.

Putting 2 and 2 together and getting 10 but Schalke have completed the signing of Romania international Ciprian Andrei Marica on a free transfer

Could that have a kick on effect for the hunt!?

I assume this guy is a forward!

I know what you mean but in order to bring the best out of this attacking unit I think we need an effective front men who can hold the ball up and use it intelligently bringing the best out of others. We didn't create as many chances as people would have you believe last season. For every West Ham at home and Blackpool away there were was an Everton, Sunderland, Bolton etc...(I could go on) were we lacked ideas, invention and attacking thrust.

Well thats Crouch ruled out then!

The latest Guerrero link is promising. I think he could be an excellent buy.

Crouch just doesn't do it to a high enough standard and of course his goal return in the League is well short, even though this is offset somewhat with assisting and some team work/play...over all he just isn't good enough for the level we are aspiring to be.

I remember watching this guy at Hamburg when Jol was in charge (I think) and thought he looked quite good, scored a lot of goals that season iirc...

With the talent and creativity we have around the midfield area I dont think we need a link up man we need some one who will stick it in the onion bag. Someone who will be in the right place at the right time, willing to take a gamble on making that run to the near/far post, in othwer words we need a penatly box striker IMO.

With Modders pulling the strings and VDV, Bale and Lennon supplying the ammunition I really think KJH could do a job for us.

Replace Lennon with Mata/Affellay/Kaka and you're talking  I agree to an extent, but that focal point would have to be able hold up the play effectivelyand bring those attacking talents into the game in the final third and I'm not convinced by KJH's ability to do that in the PL

I mean Darren Bent scores goals, but he is a shite footballer

Joey55 picked him out last season as a forward to buy. His performances at the recent Copa America showed off his talent. Technically excellent, strong, good in the air, great hold up play, excellent first touch and has played well with VDV in the past.

Looking at players we've been linked to I think we need to look at, for example, Zamora and Benzema and aim 3/4 up that scale

Just cause he isn't at a top side doesn't mean he can't do the business - Berba from Bayern Laverkausen, Modders from (shit can't remember)

Obviously still a bit of a gamble but you never know might be a master stroke!

Why was van der Vaart (who I assume you're ok with playing for the World Beating Trophy-Laden Tottenham Hotspur Football Club) playing for Hamburg just two years ago?

yes he was but we signed him from madrid . not that it makes a slighest differnence but i wud be more confident in signing a player vdv with his pedigree from club like that. who has ur man played for bar hamburg?

just to add i think spurs are now at stage where we dont need to gamble on a if but and maybe striker. Imo we need proven class and quality, the cherry on top type player. but that costs money im afriad hence fuck all been done
