To put Bale to rest:
He doesn’t want to leave RM!
If! He does, his preference would be us!
Will the deal happen?
RM want to push him out to bring in someone else, and are doing their best to bring suitors in. His team believe he is nailed in to stay. I am not sure he will stay, or go. What is a fact; we 100% have a written in clause to have first refusal at a set price, with variants to that.

If FFC are not promoted, we will try to tie up the deal for Sess, as it is far down the road in our favour. If we get Sess, Martial (praying hands), Da Ligit (Praying hands), we will bring in 2 CM, with Gomez a possibility, but no deal or bid on him. The two CM would need creative budgeting to make happen. If someone like Bale came in (which in my opinion is 99% won’t happen as explained), we have to be creative on a CM.

We have many irons in the fire, and Poch’s meeting this coming week with the board should make a lot of things clearer.

The hierarchy must be a sandwich short of a picnic if they didn’t know that about Poch already. He didn’t stand any nonsense at Southampton and he won’t stand any at Spurs. We have to back him or he’ll be off.

I don't like the way Martial and other expensive signings seem to be prioritised over a CM. Good to hear we want two, but it does make me wonder how serious we actually are about strengthening in the middle.

It should be a case of getting one top CM in first, then a left back and possibly De Ligt if a deal is to be done. Then we should be 'creative' with the forward player imo.

Personally wouldn't be opposed to being 'creative' with CM positions. If we brought in Martial (big if) we've then got a stacked 3 behind Harry, wouldn't mind Dele or Eriksen dropping back next to Dier/Wanyama. Maybe even bring in Onomah and give him a go?

Couldn't agree more. I'll be so frustrated if we spend £70/80m on Bale when we could get SMS for the same price. We don't need Bale, same applies to Martial though to a lesser extent.

Agreed. If he is our 'creative solution' to our midfield dilemma then I suspect we may be in trouble. I don't think he is near Dembele, or even Winks for that matter, in terms of CM skill. Could be an upgrade on Sissoko but that's only a tiny need.

Can’t Martial play down the middle also? If so then that kills 2 birds with one stone, AM/ST.
Then we get Sess, De Ligt and 1-2 CM and we’re on track. No messing around this summer or it will all fall apart.

Interesting the links to Martial.

Previously weren’t that bothered but he was looking really tasty this season and can slot on left or centrally to cover for Kane.

But then also linked to Bale and can’t see is getting both of them.

I’d be happy with either, we need to step up to next level now or risk losing players like Eriksen etc.

Sad Dembele may be going but he has been a bit hit and miss and we probably could do with freshening up midfield engine room (hopefully Winks will be back to his best too and idiot fans support him).

Hopefully Poch's meeting this week comes on the heels of CL qualification, and the board is in a generous mood...

& there's still a big question mark over that.

Could very well be an active window. I think you could make a case for 5 players that have contributed significant minutes could be gone this summer (Toby, Rose, Sissoko, Dembele and possibly Lamela).

What we're really missing in this squad is a winner. Gareth Bale scored a CL final winner his first season at Real and could well win 3 CL finals in a row. That experience could be massive for us. It wont happen but we should never in a million years reject an opportunity to bring him back.
