I'm beginning to feel slightly irked at the handling of the transfer window.

Lets hope a portion of this 'positive' ITK comes to fruition early this week to enable preparation and a strong start this weekend.

Possibly but I think he would still class as one of our initial targets even if he's a prospect for the future.

It's hard to say about RB and WF since not many names have been mentioned by the ITK (aside from all the guesses in here which I know A&C loves).
There is definitely a RB on that list. Poch comments make that clear. If KWP is not considered ready than a new right back will come in. I'm sure of that.

The ITK is positive and fingers crossed the deals get done soon. I think the frustration and worry comes from fear about the impact on the first few games. If we get 7-9 points by the time the window shuts it looks ok but if we get 2 points then the media will use a lack of strengthening against us.

I like the recent ITK, but media hasn't picked up on any players that seem to be close to sign. Usually they will know if we're about to announce a signing. Unfortunately I think we will have to wait a few days, at least, before we complete a transfer.

Hertyid again. Just a comment but the well is dry!

Barkley is a unique situation because he becomes free next summer and Everton have said they are definitely selling him. Hence the waiting game has a much higher probability of paying off (if that is indeed what we aren't doing).

Makes complete sense. Interested to know how much of his injury has delayed things in that respect.

At this point, I care less about Barkley bec we have only one full back ready for opening. Coupled with Wanyama injury, we are short in CM and RB. This to me is unacceptable.

Isn't ITK always positive ?

Just a reminder of some ITK from July 7, 2017

"Whilst Pochettino understands that we can't sign big stars, he's getting increasingly frustrated that targets agreed to are not being delivered, despite these players being entirely affordable, within our range and agreeing to come. In fact is a number of cases fees have actually been agreed.

He's not getting his choices with some regularity and things aren't at all well between him and the bald man who offers up signings that Poch just doesn't want. He'll continue to say the right things for now but unless things change soon, at some point we'll start to see stories appearing in the media. The Goat's source guesses we might get another season from him at best unless things dramatically improve. But that's just a guess."

This could very well be the reason we're confident. The sellers already agreed to a fee, but Levy moved the goal posts. Worst case (he thinks) is that he just goes back to the initial offer and gets the player?

Remember, "Lessons have been learned."

Even if we signed someone today, it would be too late for them to settle into the squad and Poch's way of doing things. Now the season is upon us, there is no value in signing anyone until deadline day.

Deadline day was the day we left for the US tour. Now Levy can wait till the end of the month for all I care. Just like every late signing we've ever had, they'll need weeks to get fit, get up to speed with our style, etc. Late signings under Poch rarely have good first seasons.

I'm also concerned that unless all of our signings are end of contract guys like Barkley, clubs are just going to hold on. Nobody needs money, they need players. If we sold our first choice RB for 50m (total hypothetical) its still a chore to replace him regardless of what we're willing to pay.

We are not short a CM wanyama is injured what do you want? 4 senior CM is more than enough, particularly if we want youth to be given a chance.
