Thanks for the update!

Happy with the window overall, Barkley would have been icing on the cake.
Even tho he can't kick a ball for 3 months and could potentionally have on going issues with his injury. I'm glad we never blew 30m for him today. just wish we would of had someone else in line. We knew his injury.

How can anyone dislike this? Is it remotely wrong in any way??
Because it's pretty clear not to rip into ITK and if you don't take everything with a pinch of salt, it's your own fault. It's people's way of politely telling you this before you get banned.

Thats where you're going wrong mate.
It can give an indication, you need to stop taking it as gospel, no wonder you're disappointed.

Nope - you're wrong.

ITK has been quite specific in recent cases this summer. And results have not supported these indications.

The way this window has gone our squad looks a lot stronger if we go back to playing 3 at the back regularly. Then we have Son and Llorente as game changers from the bench. Hopefully Lamela to come back too.

Means in CL we can use Son and Eriksen in behind Kane whilst keeping the stability of the back 3.

Yeah, signing him now would just be to make sure no one else got to him in January. A lot can happen between now and then.

I'm disappointed and not disappointed at the same time. I really like our new signings. Two promising defenders in Foyth and Sanchez, a world class right back in Aurier and an experienced striker in Llorente who offers something different. But at the same time, I'm really disappointed in that we didn't address the lack of quality in attacking midfield.

Sure, we have Alli, Eriksen and Son. But if we play 4-2-3-1, we have no quality to throw in if Alli, Eriksen and/or Son has a bad game or if one of them gets injured. If we play 3-2-2-1 (or whatever you want to call it), with 3 central defenders, 2 wing backs, 2 holding midfileders, 2 attacking midfielders and 1 striker, we only have one good option to throw in at the attacking midfield spots (most likely Son). That's just not good enough. Also, Alli will miss the three first games in CL.

Edit: We will have Lamela later on, but it will take time before he's back in good shape.

its their own damn fault. should have dealt him for 25 million before the injury.

They've gotta have a cut off point though. They wanted 50m at one point which went all the way down to 35m. We offered 25m, that's a hell of a big jump down from 35m. Seeing as he was heading to Chelsea before we basically tapped him up it had worked too.

What will Everton want for him in January? They wanted and were getting 35m for him now so half it maybe. Think Levy will pay that for a guy with only 5 months left not only on contract but of the season too cos I certainly don't. By getting him to reject Chelsea we've put all the power in our hands and I dread to think what we'll offer cos it'll probably piss Everton off so much they just let him go for free.
Also if Everton know we've just cost them £35m now I wouldn't blame them for refusing to enter negotiations in January too.

I think so too. I'm also concerned that Everton's bargaining power may be greater than we think, due to the world cup. Ross has got to be desperate to get into that squad (in fact I believe it's probably the main reason he wanted to work with Poch in the first place). Is he going to be willing sacrifice the opportunity by sitting out the final months of the season if the Jan window goes similar to this one? You know Chelsea will make another bid, even if just to fuck with us.

This Brighton extension might be classic Levy shrewdness. Brighton are in the most desperate situation when it comes to signing a striker and it hardly matters janssen had a poor season because they're in no position to get and sure thing - they need to pay for the possibility that he MIGHT come good. Could he scalping more than he's worth by exploiting the need and time pressure.

he's Ross Barkley with a year left on his contract. 25 is about right IMO.

We got word that Lamela is back in training. That's fantastic news. If he can regain some form and fitness by November/December, that'll be an enormous boost for us. Prior to his injury last season, he was easily one of our top performers. Realistically, he's probably better than any signing we could have made for our WF position. Yes, Balde would have been ideal, but he seems like a clown and for some reason didn't want us.

Our defense is the most stacked unit in the league. No one can come close to the starting talent and depth that we have and in a league that seems to want to believe defense doesn't matter anymore, I think that'll be an enormous asset for us.

Llorente could easily score 10+ goals for us this season. He's a seasoned veteran who has won just about everywhere he's been (Swansea should never count).

Gazzaniga has a name that will warrant horrible misspellings so I'm expecting that to be worth the transfer fee alone.

The moves, for me, indicate a change to 3 at the back. We've got the defensive depth to do it, and it will allow us better overall depth in the attacking positions since we are realistically looking at 3 positions instead of 4 (as in the 4-2-3-1). Wanyama, Dembele, Winks and Dier is great for the midfield 2 (TOB is also getting a shot to impress) and in attack we have proven performers in Dele, Eriksen, Kane, Son and Llorente. We're obviously going to need one/two of Nkoudou, Sissoko, Lamela or Edwards to give us quality time. I still believe in Nkoudou and if he can somehow be useful and bridge the gap to a hopefully healthy Lamela, we should be just fine. Edwards is a wildcard and Sissoko is Sissoko.

Overall, I'm really not concerned. This team just needs to get over the psychological block that is Wembley and we'll be absolutely fine.

Gomes. Maybe didn't happen as Coutinho didn't go to Barca.
Not sure Gomes is held so highly as not to let go for coutinho, but I'm only going by people who have watched him play for them. Looked good for Valencia but has struggled at Barca. Can't blame the guy for potentially wanting to stay in Spain and fight for a place at Barca really.
