If Barkley is so insistent on coming here then he will, Everton either accept a fee in January or he leaves for nothing in the summer.

Have to be summer then, we won't offer close to what Everton want just like we did this summer. Even more so when it's just a few months till have him for free. We've just cost Everton £35m too, they'll be fuming at us.

I have to say I'm a little annoyed at you accusing me of mocking him and then suggesting I be banned for it. Not cool.

We were told something and I was told I was wrong to think that, I was merely pointing out that I wasn't imagining something.
ITK from JJ and the rest is always to be taken with a pinch of salt. Again you say you was told something!! You was told something that can change. And normally does change. They choose to post for our fun, sorry if I offended you regarding the ban thing.

What will Everton want for him in January? They wanted and were getting 35m for him now so half it maybe. Think Levy will pay that for a guy with only 5 months left not only on contract but of the season too cos I certainly don't. By getting him to reject Chelsea we've put all the power in our hands and I dread to think what we'll offer cos it'll probably piss Everton off so much they just let him go for free.
Also if Everton know we've just cost them £35m now I wouldn't blame them for refusing to enter negotiations in January too.
Poch wants Barkley. In the end I think we would have happily paid 30m for him this window if it hadn't been for the injury situation. I makes absolutely no sense whatsoever to shell out a huge fee for a player who won't even be able to play until such a time as his transfer value will be cut in half.

If Everton are willing to come to the table with us in January I think we'll get it done for 15-20m. A fit Barkley with fresh legs in January could have a big impact on the outcome of our season which is something that has inherent value in and of itself.

Think Brighton move won't happen. Probably will go to a decent club in Spain where window is open tomorrow. Or Portugal too.

The average age here must be very low judging by some of the stupid negativity. Some of us still have nightmares of the 2008 fiasco that dessimated our squad.

A pacey player was mentioned and do many latched onto it, it brought hope but it has
I disagree. Of those, I would discount:

Lamela - personally I am not even counting him to be a functional part of our squad until I see evidence of him returning to the field of play which proves otherwise. I think he's a good player and would love to see him back at his best for us (he'd be at least pushing for a first team place), but he's been out for such a long time now that I just can't have any confidence that he'll properly return for us. Accept that opinions on this one are split fairly evenly across SC and have no problem with people who see the glass half-full and think he will come back to his best, but IMO it's hope rather than expectation and I wouldn't want to rely on Lamela's return to bail us out.

Sissoko - I don't consider him first team quality and will continue to be disappointed any time that we are stretched enough to include him in the matchday squad.

Winks and Dembele - I really like them both, but I don't consider either of them as attacking midfielders, even as contingency options. They're both excellent CMs in my opinion.

GKN - haven't seen enough to judge properly, but the fact that Poch is bringing Sissoko on in games before GKN doesn't fill me with any confidence.

Edwards - really excited by what the knowledgable Youth Team watchers have to say about him and I would love nothing more than to be proved wrong on timelines, but I would be amazed - AMAZED - if he made more than a couple of matchday squads at best over the course of this season. Based on what the guys who know their Youth Team shit have said, I guess he could become a big player for us in the future, but I think this season will be too early for us to count him as genuine first-team depth.

This is so full of crap I'm compelled to let you know that without even explaining myself!

Nkoudou's been injured since the start of the season hasn't he?
Sissoko was still getting ahead of him last season too? I haven't totally written GKN off, purely because we've seen very little of him, but at the same time the fact that he has had so little gametime since he joined means that I'm not going to count him as reliable quality depth in the AM positions either.

Was convinced it was now or never for Ross, when it was clear we wouldn't move now and Chelsea came in he was ready to go there. Everything was set until he got a call from one of our boys and the deal was off.

I can't say this as fact but it has to have come from Poch or Levy IMO.

His agents aren't overly happy to say the least, but this to me shows just how much Ross wants us, and while it might not be the best news for now it shows an awful lot about the player and his desire to play for us.

Thanks for the update!

Happy with the window overall, Barkley would have been icing on the cake.

Yeah I can't see us getting a deal done in January for Barkley, just can't see us getting a deal we consider satisfactory

I don't see any chance we're paying 15-20m for a player who will have 5 months left on contract and won't have played for 7 months. Maybe the injury stopped us but I found it very hard to believe we would get anywhere near what Everton wanted considering his contract situation. Maybe we would have, one thing for sure to me is January offer will be miles below what Everton are asking for.

Hard to have faith in gkn when he's never been considered good enough to start a pl match, hopefully that changes this season

or maybe barkley is waiting for a huge wage rise because he's now available on a free. and to be honest we arent the biggest salaries givers out there

He's only available on a free next summer. If he doesn't play between now and the summer - which is what's going to happen unless he signs a new contract or is bought in Jan - then he will definitely not go to the world cup.

Let's hope Pochs second season magic touch can rub off onto GKN, Sissoko and Janssen as it did on Son, Lamela, Davies and Trippier.

Daniel Levy has done a fabulous job of bringing this club to where it is now.

Second in the League last year and in the Champions League this year.

But I have to say that I'm getting more than a little fed up of the saying 'Levy Time'.

It's sort of a mantra by some that he'll screw over opposing clubs and bring in a 'game-changer' at a rock bottom price. And all because he leaves everything to the last minute. But how many potential deals have failed because we just ran out of time to complete it, or the fax machine broke, or there were third party complications, etc. etc. etc?

I'm beginning to wonder whether there is a real intent to complete these deals.

ITK has indicated such words as game-changer, fast, pacy forward in the last few days. This hasn't happened. I wonder whether Levy is pulling the wool over those individuals that are kind enough to provide us with the ITK on Spurs Community. It seems to happen year after year and yet we all get excited and inevitably disappointed,

The VDV signing was years ago. It's time to consider that as a one-off.

Sissoko was last year. That's the current version of Levy Time.

What has been consistent over the last few years is net spend zero.

I haven't worked it out for this window but I'm pretty certain that this has been the case once again.

If ITK has said that Pochettino wanted Barkley (or a #10) and a fast forward and Levy has failed to deliver on that then we should start bracing ourselves for the exit of our coach once a suitably ambitious club comes calling.

its their own damn fault. should have dealt him for 25 million before the injury.
