So, BBC reporting we've had a bid accepted for Llorente.
Look at Spurs transfer MO, typically young(ish) players with low to medium wages and potential for sell on, does Llorente really fit?
Look at our playing style, high intensity, high press, don't play with out and out wingers relentlessly whipping crosses into the box, does Llorente really fit?

Media games maybe, smoke and mirrors for someone else?
Maybe Poch wants to have a plan B that everyone says we should have. Llorente is pretty good in the air, and will give us that different option. Kane is better with the ball at his feet IMO. We need to be able to adapt if things aren't going our way.

We need a striker that can come of the bench and score / change a game. As much as we wanted Vinny to do it Poch and co obviously don't think he has improved since last year

15m is change nowadays :-(

Putting it on record now that I really like Llorente!

I'd be happy for the deal at 6-7m, Llorente probably only has 12 months left at the top level, I don't think that's being too tight. Then spend the remaining profit from Janssens sale on signing another position we need. Mahrez, barkley, whoever!

No way Levy spunks 15m on a 32 year old.
He may do if the two deals result in us being up £39m (i.e another £10m on the £29m in already) overall this window. If he is looking at the bigger picture, he is keeping Potch happy, addressing a concern and improving the finances

If anyone is interested, I wrote a very lengthy post in the Llorente thread on page 3 about why Pochettino (and Conte) likely wants him. There's history there, and he'd be a major upgrade for us if we can get this deal over the line.

He's 32 not 38! And it's not like him losing a yard of pace is a big issue.

Agree with the thoughts on Llorente. 15m could be the difference of a CL spot or not. Do you take a risk that Vinny will come good or do you get a player who has proven his worth and ability to score goals in this league?
