If Llorente comes it would take some of the workload off of Kane and increase the chance that he remains fit all season. Kane + Aurier in the premiership and CL, and Llorente + Trippier in the other cups seems likely.

I think changing the game is the main point of a Llorente signing. I think he would have made a big difference. Watching the Chelsea match it was commented on that we had no one on the bench who could change the game. Plus the amount of games we will hopefully be playing means he will be worth whatever we are paying for him.
Big lump to chuck up top and lump long balls at maybe.

Herc said we're getting a wide forward. JJ said we're getting pace (but he could just mean Aurier - who knows). Gray seems all over the map. GM is apparently a no go. Not yet seen a link which slots smoothly. Time still to go!
RS? Recent ITK says we're still in with a shot, adds pace, covers multiple positions, potential replacement for rose next year, or even potentially our next bale
I'd assume if Gray was option 3, GM was 1, then RS 2?

when JJ says we are going to sign pace, I dont think he is referring to a FB, its widely known Poch is after pacy forwards

It's very quiet on the ITK front this morning.

Don't know if it's a good or bad sign

The Chelsea correspondent from Goal.com and Delaney at the Independent have both just said Llorente is likely to choose to us, but not completely boxed off.

Deadline day is the one day where the media can be quicker than ITK, hence why they are allowed in here today. Sounds like it's all hands on deck this morning so there's probably less info being shared to ITKs right now.

Considering ITKs are usually hearing things second/ third hand. I think it's really unlikely they will be hearing about things as they're happening considering how quick everything happens on deadline day

Didn't @Hercules say he was going to be mainly observing today?

The fast paced nature of deals being done must be a nightmare to constantly feed us with info so I don't take silence as a bad thing at all.

Llorente is an astute signing at a time when we can't afford a top young striker, but will buy us a year or two when we should have the cash (and wages).

How good would it be to sign a player that Chelsea were after for a change? And how gutted will they be when they realize that Swansea could only release Llorente because of the Tammy Abraham loan?

Llorente is not a cheap deal, his wages will be pretty big and 15M is not to be underestimated when there is no sell on.

We CAN afford a young striker, especially if Jansen is going out the door.

From what I can see Delaney only said we are more likely to sign him than Chelsea as we've agreed a fee and they haven't, same as Sky and BBC. Goal's Chelsea correspondent the only one saying he'll choose us.

Monster of a player, dominant in the air, strong on the ball - his hold up play is better than Kane so not just an option to get goals, but will contribute defensively as well to see out games. CL experience, World Cup winner, Serie A winner - everything our young squad needs - an absolute steal at £15m

I think Herc mentioned he wasn't going to be posting today in all likelyhood and JJ usually stays very quiet until later on in the day. As deals are being worked on all day long we usually don't get much info until things are far advanced, by which time the papers and other media have got wind too.

On the subject of Llorente, not only is he a quality player and a good signing, i would just love to do one over on the Chavs on transfer deadline day :)

Just looking at the ITK ticker. Saw the possible targets list from last night, Llorente not mentioned at all as target. Then the next post. BBC say Llorente Done:) just shows you anything can happen on transfer deadline day. If something happens you will hear about it on BBC or SSN first. Especially SSN they have guys at every ground and contacts in every club looking for any small scrap of info. I know we poo poo SSN on here but let's face it they do usually have the right info. Doesn't mean the deals always come off but that is just football transfers and the players agents. Look at the Willian deal and Chelski!

Has there been info on us selling Vincent? My assumption would be that Llorente buys him time rather than replaces him, I would fully expect VJ to go out on loan.
