Stekelenberg went to Roma for £5.5M in the summer. :-| £15M sounds pretty pricey for Krul, though Man United did pay £18M for De Gea

I think Fletcher would be a pretty decent 3rd choice striker actually. Ideally we would have a top first choice to lead the line (e.g. Adebayor), a backup for them (e.g. Leandro), and a solid all-rounder to help fill in.

Apparently Newcastle went in with bids of 12.8 mil for Vorm and James Tomkins this evening.

That any true?

If you look back earlier I said Newcastle will be returning with a 12 mil bid.

I will text my uncle to see if it's true they expected that bid to be coming......Swansea might well reject it on the basis of never accept first offer

Yeah apparently it's broken down to 10 million for Vorm and 2.8 for Tompkins.

So Vorm going to them would mean Krul is off then?

How shit must Stephen Harper feel, haha.

If Newcastle bid 12mil for Vorm then how much must they want for Krul, him being 5 years younger and in all honesty, better??

I don't think Vorm would be allowed to move this January as he has already played for 2 clubs this Season (played 1 match for Utretch before moving to Swansea)

Correct

Got told this earlier when I told my mate about Newcastle being interested he said vorm has played for 2 clubs but it would tie in with us signing krul in the summer and toon having Vorm in summer?

I thought that rule was only in force if it's 2 clubs in the same league?

Also, surely signing Vorm puts Newcastle in a weak selling position for Krul. They're going to have 3 good keepers on their books all on decent to high wages I'd imagine, and bidding clubs (us?) will know that Newcastle are going to have to sell, putting the power in the bidding clubs hands.

Stuart mouse does ur name mean? I would be quite happy with krul but 15m is a lot on a keeper. Would we really swap keepers now or is it a summer move.

haha yeah, this summer Pardew was going on about how he wasn't sure if Krul, Harper, or Fraser Forster would be his #1

Krul, despite looking like a gangly 16-year-old with a bad haircut, (seriously, the big kit and everything- all he's missing is acne) is quite the keeper.

Commanding, tall, great shot stopper, and very composed. Not to mention that he can come off his line and speak ENGLISH. I wouldn't be opposed to him, especially because he could be our keeper for the next 10 years.

Words can barely express how underwhelmed i am at the mere mention of Shane Long being a potential transfer target, let alone having to read through 10 pages of debate as to wether or not he'd be a good addition to our squad, (a simple 'no' would have answered that question)

Anyway, Tim Krul? yep, i'd be well happy with that, but not if it meant spunking 12million+ at the expense of buying a striker, say, oh I don't know, Leandro?

100% an enquiry in for Vorm & Sinclair

Newcastle for Vorm
Liverpool for Sinclair

It may sound silly, but if all this did happen, and we got Krul from Toon, do you think we could possibly loan Gomes to Swansea till the end of the season? (if we can't sell him now)

Doubt it depends on gomes is wages Swansea have always liked Cudicini but not sure if they are still kean on him! Well actually deffo not as Swansea have caulker from us

They also have moreira who was benficas number one he looks pretty decent in training

Aswell as Tremmel German keeper who's solid!

And Vorm who is great so not sure

They used a scatter gun approach on their keepers this season and they hit the jack pot with Vorm!

Could see them selling Vorm and strengthening the squad with the pennies!
