Wouldn't it make more sense to get the incomings wrapped up prior to selling Adebayor and potentially Soldado.

Surely a selling club would have far more leverage if they knew we only had one senior striker on our books.

I'd presume we are pretty confident at least Adebayor is definitely off somewhere.

"Who: Grey Fox
When: 3rd AUgust
Where: SC

Significant movements over the next 48 hours in and out."

I'm sorry, but I can't help laughing when I read this.

indian buffet then.

i have a different slant from the itk as presented. for me its always been a case of lowballing three or four clubs for one player in a position we need to strengthen. coach technically ok with all of them. but has ranked them.

for dm we have say everton, dortmund, leverkusen aware of our interest and what wed like to pay. they are either tempted, perhaps because the player makes his interest clear, or not, even if he does. if they then explore the market for a replacement, looking at sell and buy price and wondering whether they can make it work or not. then conclude our offer is crap.

levy then sits tight to see which opposing chairman blinks. if none do, we have a stambouli at the bottom of the list in the last year of his contract. it all comes back to being unwilling to pay the premium. trix said deals are long the line. this means if we were to offer an extra 5m to pluck a number one of the target clubs would accept the bid.

levys simply not pressing go on that. thats where we are.

Here's hoping the '04.08.15' just posted on the official Spurs Facebook is a countdown to when Adebayor finally leaves. Probably just our third kit being revealed...

Works both ways. A buying club would feel they have more leverage if they know we've got too many strikers on the books and need to sell.

To be fair, I believe there are a few things about Spurs one shouldn't be to categorical about.
One of those things is Levy and how he likes to operate. Don't assume he only follows one single approach in all transfers.

Good point. It's pretty much high stakes poker isn't it.

We've had pretty much all the ITKs explain that things are going on behind the scenes. And Greg Stobart himself has said leaks at Spurs are very well plugged, so people need to chill out, and relax. Transfers WILL happen, and we will hear more about them closer to announcements im sure.

All it means is that deals are complicated. Not every post is a cryptic desperately in need of solving.

*And no this is not a cryptic regarding cryptics.

Was just wondering what caused the delay in Berahino and noticed the links to City and Newcastle came out at the weekend, and they are normally behind.

Exactly….what we've seen this window (for some unknown reason) is a lot of reading between the lines, guesses as to 'hidden meanings', second guessing and extreme over analysis of some pretty clear ITK.

I have no idea why that is.

It would be hilarious if there was a countdown clock speciafically made up to announce Ades departure. But yeah, that's standard kit launch PR fair.

It's because of you hiding things in posts then when people find out they feel stupid. So now everyone checks everything.

This window I've found myself checking ratings, it can't be normal!

There have been a number of posts today taking the piss out of the info and there have been exactly the same number of users who are now out of here.

It won't be tolerated. At all. This forum absolutely depends on ITK's sharing what they get.

And I don't care much if anyone thinks that's harsh, unfair or whatever, its just a great shame that this still needs repeating.
And i'd better add that anyone falling foul of this, the holiest of SC's ITK Forum rules doesn't get back in. Ever.
