Remind me when he performed well?

Yeah you're right, he's the worst player I've ever seen.

He played well during the games where he filled in for Lennon last season. Didn't you go to the Milan game at the San Siro?

He might not have scored a hat-trick, but his job was to be a reliable player that helped with possession, and chased back when needed. He did that. Well.

It just seems we've been trying for these special players for a while now, special is young, talented and profitable. There needs to be serious money spent in the summer. That is the bottom line. Prove me wrong Daniel.

there must of been some fees involved with these loans so it is quite shrewd business.

we are all bricking it in case we get an injury to some key players.

well, bassong has played poorly for a while now, and pienaar doesnt provide tge creativity that lennon, vdv, or bale provide, so it shouldn't be too much of a problem.

maybe harry also liked what he saw of lancaster.......

And Pav did?

Saha does score. What you should've said was he doesn't play.

Bear in mind the team he's been playing in too. Compare that to the one Pav has been playing in.

At worst it's a like for like swap that we've made £10mil+ out of.

Not sure how anyone can argue with that.

As you have identified, the problem surely will be that he has recently been as injured as Pienaar.

The swap we've made is actually Pienaar for Saha.

Don't think it was awful window but not great either, if we do have any long term injuries then pienaar going might come back to haunt us, surprising that most of our talented youth has is also out on loan. Not an expert in any stretch of the imagination but really do see the extra quality in townsend, an would be the best cover for lennon imho.

There will be another reason in the summer that we can't spend money.

It'll be the euros, or the fact our 1.5M players on loan come back have to be sold first.

And one we'll make money on.

There's nothing to moan about with him leaving, other those who like moaning for the sake of moaning.

Lennon's injured, has been unavailable for a number of games over the last 2 months.

That's a position Pienaar could easily fill, allowing Walker greater scope to attack, and giving more defensive cover.

Im guessing Lennons injury is not very serious, that would make more sense to me.

People seem to forget that Niko did the business tonight

Thinking about it more, Bassong has seemed fairly shakey to me for at least a year, i guess he just needs regular games. Hopefully a more experienced head wont suffer from this.

But why leave ourselves inexplicably short of numbers?

And could we really find no wing cover in all the world?

Tbh I've heard we're going to do this or that next window a million times. All that happens is someone else comes in for the players with more money and they go elsewhere. Unless its signed we've got nothing.

We could have won the title if we'd gone for it. Now we're relying completely on luck with injuries to make CL next season.
Agreed

This.

We could benefit in the long run if we want to keep him. His confidence could get back to the levels they were at in the 2009/10 season when he looked a decent player.
