Does that mean Ben does not believe Martinez is Levy's choice? Or did he start the topic and Martinez is what he has heard?
I'm awaiting clarification on that very point before it makes the RO

Did latest BEN get posted last night?

Topic: Martinez told is who levy prefers

We will see

That would be a big risk. I'm not confident we'll attract anyone that will make any kind of step change at the club to be honest I just hope we haven't screwed the pooch!

Do we want players that are afraid of hard work and the pursuit of excellence? Strong and ambitious players like van der Vaart will thrive. The weak and causal will not like it, but that will clense us of our lack of winning mentality.

True, just worried he might try to change things too quickly.

if martinez is preferred choice, why sack harry? Martinez shouldnt be anywhere near a spurs club. For me its Moyes, Hiddink, Low, Bilic, and AVB.

martinez would be a disaster. Yes, he has plenty of EPL experience but very very inconsistent

A large groundswell of support for Martinez on FTL, which I find very surprising.

If Akqayid info is correct, anyone else surprised that Redknapp wanted a raise? I mean he's already one of the top paid managers in the world. How greedy can a man be.

NO to Martinez stand by what I said yesterday about him! Only flavour of month at moment thanks to Wigans last 7/8 games. He will more than likely take us down than to the next level

Yesterday I went to bed hoping for a Martinez over a Moyles (sic)...

But when people start mentioning Peter Griffin and any Low(e) flying German it makes me think about a manager from a whole 'nother tier.

could we really pull in a top, top, top class man? I'd like to be left Klopping by the end of this...

Whoever we decide to bring in as manager needs to be prepared to hit the ground running. With Chelsea and Arsenal strengthening already, we have a lot of needs that must be satisfied through the transfer market in order to be a top 4 contending side. Chief among them, we are in desperate need of at least 2 new strikers, and one of them has got to be able to score at least 15 goals for us next season.

Bringing in a coach from outside England who has a continental view of the game and isn't afraid to take chances on players without EPL experience would be very refreshing. Deschamps is someone who really needs to be considered, in my opinion. Ticks every box imaginable and has the name to excite potential incoming players.

As for Martinez, I feel he's an affable personality, but I worry that opting for him or Moyes would signal that the club is planning to be very austere with near term spending, which would be a major problem in opinion. If you're going to take a chance on someone like Martinez, I'd just as soon rather roll the dice on someone like Laudrup, who had even less talent at Getafe and Mallorca than Martinez has at Wigan.

Whoever Levy brings in, I sincerely hopes he backs him with at least a modicum of transfer money. If we don't bring in at least 3 quality signings (2 strikers and a centre-back at the least), we'll struggle to finish in the top 6 next season.
