It's not that big of an issue, I suspect that because of the CL final pre season will be delayed for a couple of weeks anyway.

It's still a lot of games for the England players especially as last year it was the World Cup. Either Spurs or Liverpool players will be emotionally drained after the CL final maybe Netherlands might be a good bet.

That sounds very likely tbh. And if that happens let's hope Southgate sacks off the utterly pointless 3rd place playoff like they did the one at the World Cup so our guys get less fatigued going into their holidays.

I don't think it will be an issue. Kane doesn't need rest after his layoff's, Winks neither, or Dier. Trippier, Rose, and Alli maybe but all have had lay offs and it's not like the fullbacks play every week.

We also have the 'luxury' of this three week break now. It wouldn't surprise me if, even with the CL final to play, Poch and co. are doing it as kind of a split pre-season - do a bit of work, last matches of the season, and then little bit of rest, then back to the main training block in July. As I said the other day, I bet Poch is doing some of his famous triple training sessions in the run up to the final and working them very hard, and there's an opportunity to do a bit of reconditioning work if players need it.

It's only two games and not a month long tournament. The final is June 9th, one week after the CL final. The only issue is the game vs Netherlands is just days after. But then, who could have seen and predicted two English sides in the CL final back in August? Especially the two sides that may actually have the most representatives between the two. Think ultimately it will be fine. Winks won't start the final, and more than likely won't even feature in the final squad for England. Kane is the one who will probably start vs Netherlands, especially if he plays a part vs Liverpool (even off the bench).

They will all still have a much better summer than last year, though.

They need a mental layoff. Go and sit on a beach for a few weeks or play with their kids at home, anything but thinking about football for as long as possible.

When I met Joe Cole a few years ago on holiday we had a very brief chat about football and he said that he didn't want to talk about it really. He was just happy to switch off from it for a while, so we talked about our kids, my job etc. Mind you it was when he was at Villa under Sherwood and I think he could tell I was going to take the conversation down that route, so I'm not surprised he didn't want to talk about it!

They could have three weeks minimum, and probably a month, sat on the beach before coming back and having a good three weeks training before the season starts, not like last season where players were coming back from their breaks just as the season kicked off. Any issues/rushing back will be because the club has chosen to do yet another crappy pointless globetrotting expedition for pre-season.

When we win the CL final what happens to the victory parade down the High Road , do we have a parade with Harry and Co missing because they have to be with the England squad, not very satisfactory.

It's the next day (Sunday) I think they mentioned that the players who play in the final will meet up with the England squad on Monday

Delph over Winks is just laughable.

Trippier deservedly so though but so many overrated England players never get dropped and trips gets dropped straight away!

Unfortunately for him we've also got Walker and Alexander Arnold.

Winks hasn't played for a while, so wont be match fit and Delph is a utility player who can slot in a number of positions so it kind of makes sense

I think the cuts are fair but why include Winks and players like Redmond in the first place? He’s cut them out without even watching them train or anything. What’s the point of getting someone like Redmond’s hopes up and then cut him a few days later without even seeing him? What I’m basically saying is why not just name a 23 man squad in the first place and then if there are injuries, add people then! Why name 27? He knew Winks had only played one game in the last few months. Why name him then cut him days later?

Or have I missed something really obvious...?
