Why would we want to do that?
he ripped us to pieces in the first game we played and could cover both wings creativity. plus there's still part of me that wants to see our academy products come good at our club so probably biased thinking.

It is biased thinking, he is nowhere near good enough for us.

Meanwhile Liverpool who have a tired, old midfield, dropping out the top 4, target both Jude Bellingham and Enzo Fernandez.

thats how to be ambitious, address your issues both short term and long term.

meanwhile at penny pinching with no real plan fc, we are looking at low quality players on a whim as per usual.

so frustrating. Liverpool have been identifying their targets and working on deals for months.

they have a relatively old team that needs an overhaul and we can replace them as a challenger and instead we meander instead of being decisive.

You must be a member of our transfer committee given that you seem to know we have "no plan", and have not been "identifying targets and working on deals for months like Liverpool"?

As far I can see Liverpool haven't signed Bellingham and Fernandez yet. Why don't we wait to see what actually pans out in the transfer window. We've done alright under the previous two Conte/Paratici transfer windows and I'm sure they will look to be active again to address our weak positions.

Liverpool is competing in a different talent pool from ours. Not sure how that is a fair comparison...

With the news Richarlison is out for about a month, I wonder if it will cause us to HAVE to target another forward in January. I know it's a position of need but I was a bit more calm about it since I know if a good opportunity arises they would take it. It's always tough in January and just would hate if we panic bought someone when there's limited options. Should be interesting either way

If they were that forward-thinking, they would have sorted out their issues in the summer.

Why must people look for any reason to dig out our club at every single opportunity they can? It's fucking weird!

I can’t remember a time where the club altered transfer policy/targets due to an injury.

I don’t think it’s wise or realistic either to be honest.

Not much to judge on this season tbh.

I don't have a problem with going after cheaper deals as we've found out with Bentancur and Kulusevski they do work I know the jurys still out on the other deals but if we get it right it can be worthwhile Juve and Bayern do these cheaper deals every year.

Yep, this was already a weak area as shown if any of the top4 get injured then we don't have enough quality attacking depth for 2 games a week PL & CL as Lucas & Gil aren't up to it and we end up having to switch to a toothless 3-5-2.

Priorities should've been RWB & AM going into this window anyway, if Richy is out for a month then that just becomes an even bigger priority now.

Yeah I'm not gonna dig the club out for not signing the likes of Bellingham or Enzo.

These players basically have a pick of who they wish to join so they are only going to go to Madrid, Liverpool, Barcelona, City, etc. We are below that range and even if we fronted 100m, we'd likely get rejected.

Bellingham had clubs all over Europe wanting him before he opted for Dortmund and he went there because his advisors knew Dortmund would be happy with a release clause and it would be a nice stepping stone.

Tottenham cannot be a stepping stone for these players and certainly shouldn't be giving players release clauses for 2 years, just so they can be then taken by City or Chelsea with no resistance from us. The fans would be in uproar for a start.

We need to find the Bentancur's and co, those who are maybe jot completely appreciated by the biggest clubs.

I've said it before in other areas on here but for some reason this approach makes me even more passionate about winning silverware and challenging in the league. Nothing would please me more than Conte leading a bunch of "cast offs" from other clubs together through pure grit to trophies over clubs shelling out 100m plus on every position.

Similar to Lenglet scoring on the last match day to help win the CL group while Barca crash out of the competition. That's why when we're linked to a Zaniolo, or someone who's "finished" I don't mind as long as Conte and FP wants, let him work with them.

I think he had a good game against us over there but was completely ineffective at ours. I'll add to that he hasn't really changed from when he was here originally. We'd be stupid to take him back.

A friend of a friend bumped into some pissed bloke last night, who claimed to be one of Spurs' top scouts. Said we're signing Declan Rice in January. No salt required - this guy was completely coherent, lucid and obviously legit. #WelcomeDeclan
