Actually, being +/- 7pts, with 17 out of 20 teams, over 38 matches, with 114pts to play for with each team, is pretty accurate

Isn't it?

What's the baseline here?

PS also, where's the 'shrugging man' emoji?

No that's league position, not a difference in points.

He's still at it. Here's his prediction for the Euro final. He was a wee bit off as usual. Still being paid big money by the Beeb though and had a jolly for 4 weeks in France at our expense. Well done Steve Wilson.

He's back and predicting a 1-1 draw. CAD

Everton v Tottenham
Everton are in the process of rebuilding under manager Ronald Koeman, and their signings so far have been positive.

Tottenham will be looking to kick on from last season but they started quite slowly last year and did not get a win until their fifth league game - I don't think they will start with a win this time either.

Lawro's prediction: 1-1

Liverpool to continue their invincible run from last season ...

Arsenal v Liverpool (16:00 BST)
Arsenal fans are already complaining about their side's lack of signings and they are currently short of fit centre-halves.

Liverpool have injury problems too, because Daniel Sturridge is recovering from a hip problem, and without him I am not sure that they have a regular goalscorer.

Liverpool are opening the season with three away games because of the work on the main stand at Anfield. As well as Arsenal they go to Chelsea and Tottenham in the first month.

Taking all of that into consideration, I think both sides would take a point here.

Lawro's prediction: 1-1

Those three signings, one of whom is unlikely to play (or at least be fit enough for a full game). The others are a bang average goalie and a midfielder from a relegated side (albeit he is decent). All this and an angry manager who says his team isn't ready.

A draw is probably the easiest thing to predict on opening day but, once again, his reasoning is weird.

His analysis, previews, and predictions are so indepth and stunningly accurate that my tiny brain can barely comprehend them.
