but if he saw that we were a basket case with no hope of winning anything in the summer - what has he seen to change his mind?
I believe that was never the case.

It was more he wants to win things and very quickly and for that he wants backing to buy players he wants. Whatever he demanded was too much for Levy so we ended up with Nuno who was happy just to be in a job.

Hope United don't come sniffing around Conte if we get him and Ole get sacks shortly after. Not sure i would trust Conte to honour his contract, hope i'm wrong. That being said i be buzzing if we get him.
Theyre not sacking Ole until they have to. We just saved him for another 6 months at least.

I don't think people appreciate what a top manager does to a squad. Look at Brighton under Potter. Look what Klopp did to LIverpool. Yes you need quality players, but Spurs certainly have enough to do more than we are.

No reason this squad can't go for top 4 under Conte this season and push on further next season with some smart hires in the right places.
Completely agree mate, it sounds obvious but it’s the most important role at the club by a mile which is why it’s so annoying Levy has made so many shit choices over the years.

The right manager as we saw with Poch can be absolutely transformative.

Yes the squad needs work and if we got Conte I’d expect us to do some serious business in Jan and summer but as you say I think people underestimate just how much of a difference a good manger can make.

Doesn't say when in 2023. Could be as short as 14 months and as long as 25 months and still be 2023. I would imagine it's a 2 year contract and if all goes well we'll extend it next summer to a few more years.

It will of course be until the end of the 2022-23 season.

Think he wanted various promises that we weren't willing to provide him with. Now Levy's obviously panicking. The stadium was really toxic on Saturday, he needs to act drastically and get a Conte in, it's the only thing that might save him.
im guessing that Romero, Royal and Kane being at the club this season also make the extent of the rebuild less extreme/expensive than when we spoke to him in the summer.
