I don't for a minute think Conte would agree to coming in if we'd not promised something along those lines yes.
Reckon Kane is on the phone to Conte now along the lines of: ‘so he verbally promised you massive transfer funds in January? I’d get in writing if I were you!’

what kind of money do you think is going to be spent getting 3-4 players. Unless we have got our eyes on some gems that are cheap can't see levy spending over 120m in january.

There are quite a few decent out of contract players in the summer, so they could be picked up for a lower fee in Jan

That may be where we start shopping.

He isn't. He's very a much a "fuck you then, I'm off" kind of guy. If Levy doesn't bow to his needs (reasonably or otherwise), he'll let everyone know. This appointment could expose Levy more than any previous one because Conte won't toe the party line.
Tbh he rarely resigns. In fact I dont think he ever really has. Hes more of a "fuck you, I will publically undermine you till you sack me and I get my compensation" kinda guy!

Mabye not £120m but if we sold 2 or 3 and net spend of about £80mil I think that could happen as events have kicked back in after pandemic and we are a mess and need to re-build.

Can only assume in the summer Levy baulked at Conte, and Nuno and or Gattusso were Paratici's compromise options that Levy reluctantly gave the green light to (Nuno). But seeing the shit show this season, Levy and maybe Lewis have said, fuck it throw the cash at Conte and get him in, we are a mess.

Still goes back to Levy making a right hash of it. Nuno was Paratici's man, but if he was only operating under the remit Levy gave him, can he be 100% blamed? Nobody can seriously tell me Paratici wanted Nuno over Conte in the summer if given the choice. Seems obvious it was Levy who walked away from Conte. Conte would have taken the job in the summer, his english instagram post that day was a dead gove away.
I think at the time we were still unsure over our own finances (the whole football world was). Perhaps Levy felt he couldn’t commit to employing Conte. Combined with his (Conte) combustible nature it probably made the decision for him. With football returning to some sort of normalcy and being able to have more confidence in the clubs financial forecasts It is probably an easier decision for him.

That’s just my view on it though.

I'm fairly sure there's no way we sack a manager this early in the season without someone lined up so it looks like this deal may have been already in the pipeline in the Summer.
I was fairly sure that we wouldn’t spend 72 days flapping around in the summer for a manager we sacked after 4 months but it still happened. Please don’t give our board any credit for forward planning. Everything is reactionary. I bet they didn’t give a second thought towards the next manager until about 7.30 Saturday evening

That moment when Spurs fans turn up to the stadium on Thursday night for Conte’s first game in charge only to be greeted by seeing the severed heads of Winks, Dele and Kane on pikes atop the stadium roof.
