Brighton sack Chris Hughton

Gutted for him, bit harsh imo.

Did not see that one coming. Managed to hold them in the Premier League for two seasons, but only 3 wins in their last 23 games and barely escaped relegation probably tells us that the board wanted changes.

Wow that is very harsh.

Well guess I’ll be hoping that get relegated now next season then! :)

Disgraceful he kept them up and got them to an fa cup semi final. Not sure what they were expecting to compete for Europa league? not even the mighty West Ham can manage that!

It does seem harsh but Brighton had an awful second half of the season, they looked like they were going to stay well clear of relegation but ended up right in the mire and were only really saved by the fact that three teams performed worse than them.

Brighton have surely seen that Norwich went down in Chris' second PL season there and thought a repeat of that was too close.

He'll get more chances, certainly at a good Championship club if not in the bottom half of the PL next time a vacancy arises.

Not sure where some clubs think they should be. Only their second season ever in the PL, its still an achievement keeping them there.

Think it is harsh. Took them to a FA Cup Semi Final this year too.

Surely there goal was probably to stay up?. If they had loftier ambitions, maybe they should have backed him in the transfer market. Just think they need a bit of a reality check to be honest.

Brighton’s directors need to take a long hard look at themselves. Who are they going to get in instead? He took them to an FA Cup semi-final.

Rescued them from relegation from the Championship and kept them in the PL.

Really gobsmacked by this.

Brighton will be going down next season. They will probably try to get a new exotic manager who won't be able to get the team playing whatsoever.

He spent about £75m last summer. They probably weren't willing to do the same this summer.
