The quietness of Danchev

For the first time ever (and I suspect the journo has been trawling the forums of SC for info) an article has been written in the Bulgarian press - albeit in the English language Sofia Echo - accepting that Berbatov may still be at Spurs next year. It's quite a departure, so I felt it worthy of note and posting here.

There's an implied criticism of Tottenham's valuation of him, which doesn't surprise me, as no doubt the club will be blamed for "scuppering" any move with a high price tag. But when they mention he was "fodder for press speculation", it's a pity the name Danchev doesn't make it into the article, as the source of the major speculation during the season, and for setting it all in motion.

Lily, I don't take this article seriously . I doubt there is a Bulgarian journalist with such a family name. Try to translate his family name in English and you may get a clue :p. (That's not a serious reason to dimiss the article, of course :)) More importantly, the first sentence of the article would make sense on say 20th August 08, and not nearly 90 days before the closing of the summer window. I mean: Berbatov's chances to move will be significantly reduced only when the biggest clubs - from Man U and Chelsea to Real and Milan - buy "their" striker(s). No one of these 6-7 clubs have signed a striker yet. If they need a player like Berbatov, they can bid even on 30th August. I'm sure Spurs will have signed another striker by this time. Honestly, I don't believe that everything will be clear as early as 03.07. Both Danchev and Berba have said on numerous occasions that his future will be clear after the end of the summer window, and not after June or July. No-one of them has mentioned a date before the end of the summer.

It looks like Mourinho's Milan will go for Drogba!
Man U this morning is linked with Cruz of Blackburn.
The threat may come in AC Milan, Spanish sides like Barca and Real which most of us would prefer if he was to move. However, Chelsea is still managerless and whoever is at the helm may demand to have Berba!
I would be more assured when the transfer window closed.
So, his quietness still doesn't reassure me!!!!!
I like Berba but don't like Danchev

If he agrees to a new contract, perhaps Levy could add another 5000 pounds weekly if he fires Danchev.
