I'm worried that Fergie has come out praising us again. The last time he did that was just before the Stoke game, then lo and behold the referee does everything he can to stop us getting anything. In fact, wasn't Dowd involved in their last game when a Wigan player was sent off something Dowd spotted from half the pitch away?

I can see it now, Dowd's gonna f*** us tomorrow, the fat ****

I don't like it when we get a double page spread on how well we/Harry/Bale is doing, and how we are genuine contenders for the Prem title, it always seems to go to shit in the next game!

I thought Liverpool were at best "average" tonight. NOT going to end up in the top 4.

In my opinion all top 6 clubs will win this weekend. Still good for us.

Liverpool were at best average tonight.
Their first goal was terrible defending.
Their second goal came from a free-kick that never should have been given, and Krull had it easily covered until Simpson decided to run in front of him and deflect it into the net.
Only their third goal was decent and that was after the Barcodes opened up a bit, and looked already beaten.

Newcastle played the better football. Liverpool would look decidedly average without Bellamy.

I'm actually expecting Sunderland to push Citeh.

I would reserve my opinions on Pool until Suarez finishes his 8-game ban and we see what they do in January.

In fairness to them, if they scored the four penalties they've missed so far they'd be in the top four by now. With Gerrard they may finally start scoring against the crap teams.

In general I think they're too workmanlike to make it, but who knows, it's a long time between now and April.

In fairness to us, if we had a sober referee at Stoke we might be 3 points better off

I thought Liverpool were quite poor tonight, Gerrard lifted them but they still look well short of a top 4 side at the moment. A lot of huff and puff without any real quality, they were gifted that tonight.

They'll finish 6th all day long for me.

Conversely you could say that we robbed Fulham, and going by that performance we'd never even make top 6, much less top 3. And if we had one half against Stoke - well, they had the other.

I'm not going to think about placements until March or so, well after the Jan window is over. It's easy for any team to go on a losing or winning run for whatever reason, and we might still face long injuries to Adebayor and Bale. Eek

Luck with injuries will play a pretty big role this season imo. United have coped very well, but we've yet to see Chelsea without Sturridge/Mata, Arse without RvP, and us without Adebayor...

We all thought that over the Boxing Day fixtures also, 1 or 2 will drop points, need to make sure it's not us

I would...but I'm not going to.
They are workmanlike, at best.
They could buy more in January. I'm sure they will be fantastic World-beaters, like everyone they have bought in the last year (who I have been reliably informed we should be shi'iting our panties over - well, they cost a lot of money, right ).
But sooner or later, the fact that they don't have the ground capacity or revenues to support such spending/wages, especially when they finish outside the CL places again, will tell against them.

Okay, I could be massively wrong and they could become World beaters...But I don't think so.

As for Suarez - they are sixth, with some decidedly average performances and results with him in the team - maybe the fear should be tha they will be better without him, and not worse Eek

No, you couldn't really say we robbed Fulham. You could say we deserved our lead, much as Stoke deserved theirs. But there, the similarities diverge. We defended stoutly against Fulham (being able to do that is part of the game, I wish some folk would receoncile themselves to that - doing so is not always luck); Stoke did not defend stoutly, they were all over the place and, on top of the one penalty that was rightfully given, we could easily have had four more. Fulham didn't score a perfrectly legitimate goal that was disallowed for no good reason, we did. Fulham suffered from one slightly dodgy decision in our favour (when a free-kick could have been awarded to us just prior, in any case), we suffered from 6 (SIX :bang:) match changing decisions, and a host of minor ones (including two clear corners given as goal-kicks, an allowance of Stoke players to oull, haul, maul and man-handle our players, whereas if our players even used their strength they were penalised, and the bizarre allowance of their players to take upwards of 20 seconds per throw...because they wanted to). There is absolutely no comparison between the two.

And, no, just for the record, Stoke didn't have one half - they had 25 minutes of one half, we had the other 20 minutes of that half - just rather ineffectually. So, we had 65 minutes + injury time of one of the hardest away gronds in the league, and were lubed and violated by the ref.

Welcome to the site, by the way...you seem like a good egg :eek:mg: Or banana

Oh, and I don't see Sunderland pushing Citeh, they are toothless up front and I expect Citeh to score.

So 1 man team Pool have Gerrard back again and will now no doubt think they will storm up the table, what a silly bunch they are

As for this weekends games not expecting any of City, Arse, Manure or Chelsea to drop points so its another big game for us.

I kinda fancy your old friend MOs motley crew to stifle Citeh, actually.
