If we can get a win today we will be sitting pretty with only having played 8 home games compared to those around us playing 10. I think that's a nice position to be in.

Admit it SP, if that were Liverpool getting reamed by Fulham you'd be rushing to RAWK to lol at the meltdown

I admit I'm happy with any sort of 3 points, but it's useful to know that we have to keep on our toes or end up with those sorts of performances. Instead of thinking how average our rivals are, it's better to have a kind of underdog mentality to inspire us to outfight them every game :)

1) I would rather remove various portions of my body :)omg:) than be seen dead on RAWK

2) Oh, I agree - and I'm sure Aitch does a very good job at it. But we are all adults here (apart from the non-adults :shifty:), and I don't think it does any harm to admit the truth - LiverScouse are shi'ite

Don't like how the goons are now only 3 points behind Eek need to really win that game in hand.

The Manure and Chelsea results where lovely surprises today.

the only time we drop points is when someone in this thread says "shouldn't this be the race for 1st/2nd/3rd thread"

Strange but we've played less home games than any of the other top six teams and yet we've played more away games than any of the other top six so even if we'd played the game in hand we'd be at a disadvantage, nice thought for the rest of the season.

I hate it as well, hopefully Fulham can beat them on Monday and we'll restore a 6 point gap with a game in hand on them after Tuesday.

Good result today really. 4 points from two tough games. Capitalisation comes from winning the next three at home before heading away to City.

Swansea have a good record at home and the quick succession of games is always going to throw out a few unpredictable results.

We gained a point over Chelsea and Utd who had relatively simple home games and Arsenal beat QPR at home. A good day really.

Of the top 6 teams (minus City who are yet to play their second game), we've had the best Christmas period thus far...

Manchester United: 3 points from two home games.
Arsenal: 4 points from two home games.
Chelsea: 1 point from two home games.
Liverpool: 4 points from two home games.
Spurs 4 points from two AWAY games.

Another interesting point is that we've played more away games and less home games than anyone else in the league I think.

Yeah I think today was a good day all round really. I mean yes some will say on paper we should be beating the likes of Swansea but there is a reason they don't let many in at home, they are a very solid unit. I actually like Swansea, Norwich too I think both teams are playing good football, they deserve a place in the prem over the likes of Wigan and Stoke, hopefully they both survive.

Also we are showing how much of a force we are, two tough away games over the christmas period and we've collected 4 points, whilst Liverpool, Arsenal, Chelsea and Man United have ALL dropped points at home. It is now our turn to have a spell at home, 3 games in the next couple of weeks, let's hope we can push on and get a distance between us and 4th.

Quite correct, Nicdic. A couple of Arse supporters text me today claiming that they're 'catching us'. As I see it, we've maintained a very good standard of football since the two Manchester defeats early in the season. We've played 2 more away games than home games, and with 3 successive league home games coming up we should be desperately trying to stretch our lead on Chelsea and Arsenal who have away games coming up.

Interestingly, Swansea's next two home games are against Arsenal and Chelsea. Can't wait to see how they get on.

The result itself is not a disaster today, Swansea are tough and they played well.... in truth it was a tricky away fixture and a point is a reasonable return (of course you are always wanting to win every game but that's not realistic)

What sticks in the craw so to speak is that like the Newcastle game with under 10 mins to go we had the points in the bag and its ALWAYS frustrating to lose points with late goals (as you are so close to the finish line)

Never mind, dust off and come back stronger

Transfer window will be interesting as Chelsea surely will spend BIG and Man U may feel they need to make moves to compete with City. I hope our transfer activity doesn't let us down this year like it did last when Chelsea outspent us and blew us away in the race for fourth (one we were winning but their transfer window turned into a title race)

I agree. Normally I would be pretty seething for dropping points in the last 10 minutes of a game, be it deserved or not, but overall I'm still delighted with the way the last two rounds of prem games have gone for us and our competition.

Fantastic actually, and Arsenal arn't exactly convincing at the moment. Fulham will test them to the limit on Monday if they bring their A game.

Feeling pretty good, the win would of been great today but providing we win our next 3 home games that will still be an excellent return.

I really do hope that Harry mixes it up a little come Tuesday evening, certainly hope Lennon is back in the team.
