Did this look like the U23's applying the new first team system of 4141/433/41221 ?

seemed that way to me yeah, just a shame we had walkes as one of the advanced centre mids which predictably stunted us from moving the ball forward effectively. kwp's role was the most interesting, he was playing more in between the opposing lcb and lb rather than outside as you'd expect.

something like this - http://lineupbuilder.com/?sk=c32fy3

muscatt didn't support our attacks enough though, we could've done with another kwp at rb to overlap whilst the other plays narrow. goddard often dropped back to get on the ball whilst walkes was more advanced but it was definitely more of the 4141 we've been seeing in the 1st team rather than 4231.

I'm currently watching us v Man Utd reserves "live" on MU TV. It's nearly half-time. Am I watching this live?
Edit. Just seen the report on official site - so much for "live" action.

GOAL, Duncan! Good work from Sterling to hold the ball up and slip in Duncan, who finished at the second attempt. 1-0.

GOAL, wonderful from Shashoua. He weaved his way through a few challenges and found the bottom corner from the edge of the box. 2-0.

3-0! Short corner ends with Tanganga heading in Shashoua's cross. It's been a fantastic Spurs performance so far.

4-0! Shashoua bends in a beautiful free-kick just before halftime.

What would you say he struggles with? Is he defensively sound?

He is defensively decent. The thing is his positioning is good but it will depend on who he plays with. This year unsurprisingly he has probably looked ore shaky but he has been playing alongside Owens (not a defender) and Walkes who has never been the best positionally, and then Georgiou (LW) or Muscatt at LB. Anyone would struggle to hold a line or look organised there.

I don't think he gets passed down a lot on his inside, like Trippier for example. His one on one defending could be better. While he is small I personally wouldn't say he is weak, he has learned to use his body to protect the ball and he does put himself about and get back up.

Thing is he looked was a decent defender at u18s, but was constantly attacking, last year, he worked on that side of his game. It can always improve but I would be happy to play him in a cup as an attacking FB

Two u16s in Patterson and Skipp starting.

Also youthawk tweeted that we have the youngest academy intake or scholarship class of I think Div 1 and 2 teams
