Bernard at those price would had match Nagredo prices... I would had prefer we use the money and try for Lamela.

If we just presume now that Chadli and Osvaldo is our best case scenario, it'll save a lot of teeth-gnashing, fist-clenching, screaming and general raging in the long run.

Lamela cost Roma around £20m. Do you honestly believe they will flog a player who has performed so well with them without trying to make atleast £10m profit?

You need to ask yourself this question and whether it fits into our budget before making these kind of statements.

I suspect once you have considered these points you will understand why Bernard is a more realistic target.

They're really good players though, I saw Osvaldo 2 or 3 times when he played for Espanyol, and thought he was a class act.
Chadli is interesting, different and exciting, I think he would go down a storm at the Lane.
We need to get real people, and also appreciate what we've already got :)

And when you pull apart aspects surrounding any Bernard deal (price, desire to come, suitability to league) you'll understand why Chadli is a more realistic target than him.

I've decided, Chadli can be our much-desired Michu-style signing.

Well I had factor in but realistically, Bernard is no Lamela. Bernard thrive with Ronaldinho while Lamela is like Bale.

That's 10m diff for me.

An agent might get 20% of his signing on fee but there is no way a player would agree to that percentage of his wages unless he was told to do so by the person that looks after his affairs.......oh hang on a minute

Radio Télévision Belge Francophone (RTBF), the public broadcasting organization of the French Community of Belgium, and Dutch website AD.nl have both gone to print on Sunday with the news that Tottenham have signed Nacer Chadli from FC Twente for €7 million.

For the right price, and done nice and early, I'd be happy with that.
Chadli sounds a good fit for the wide forward/inside left position. Young and improving.
Similarly, Osvaldo is a handful of a CF, good physicality, but to play the leagues/level he has played in, decent technique too.
Don't think they'd break the bank on fees or wages, and would leave sufficient cash for Baldini to go after a few prospects/projects at CD, CM and CF.
Rather get genuine improvements that are much more gettable now, than aim for players who may well be a level or two above but with a lesser chance of success, which drags to the last minute.
We weren't that far away last year, just an extra few percent needed, sharpen up a bit, not major surgery.
