Tottenham fans were 'spot on' to taunt Jack Wilshere after injury, insists Stan Collymore

Tottenham fans were "spot on" to taunt Jack Wilshere after the Arsenal midfielder picked up an injury at White Hart Lane, according to Stan Collymore.

Wilshere, who is on loan at Bournemouth, endured a nightmare return to north London as Eddie Howe's side were blown away by Spurs courtesy of a 4-0 scoreline.

The 25-year-old was regularly jeered by the home crowd, who had clearly not forgotten Wilshere led anti-Spurs chants during a Gunners' FA Cup victory parade in 2014.

Spurs supporters continued to abuse Wilshere as he was forced off with an injury, prompting some critics to suggest such a stance was unfair on the midfielder.

What you sow is what you get. He clearly hates us and us taunting him was nothing less than what he deserved.

It was when he spat on the taxi driver that he showed his true colours, he's a little shit and I have no sympathy for him. He's not even that good, no idea where all the hype about him came from? Dele has probably scored more in the last few weeks that Wilshere has scored in his whole career.

haha fuck him, if only Wenger could recall him for the NLD, then we could tell him where to go one last time.

The hype came from his performance against Barcelona as a 17 year-old in the CL, he did put in a very good performance that day and he's been living off it ever since.

Wilshere has only ever scored 7 goals so you're actually spot on.

I'm a nice person, but I'd be quite happy to never see Wilshere pull on a football kit again.

Scum of the highest order.

There's something about his face, the expressions he hangs on it, etc.

Put it like this, as a right thinking individual, if i saw him on the ground not breathing i would immediately administer CPR & chest compressions, however, at the end of each set of compressions, i would punch him squarely in the face and claim that it was a "new technique".

Probably the only current Arsenal player who would've gotten that level of abuse. And he deserved it and more.
Right little overrated punchable scrotum

Don't think it can ever be described as 'spot-on' to jeer someone getting injured, but it was hardly a career threatener and he has previous with winding up our fans. What else could he expect really? A rousing chorus of Kumbaya?

I would agree with this.
I said in the match thread that I wasn't sure it was in good taste, but it was a general rule and I had totally forgotten about the taxi incident.

I think like you say, as it wasn't serious and just meant he needed subbing, then I've relaxed my goody two shoe stance!

Fwiw I think he is a terrible footballer and person, all that is wrong with modern English footballers who think they've made it.

Unlike our lot (as far as I can tell).

Wilshere deserves to be dropped from football.

This is the crux of it...if his leg had been smashed to bits a la Seamus Coleman, then I'm pretty sure it would've been a different reaction, and i for one wouldn't have cheered at all...but it was the fact he pretty much got straight up, walked about for a bit, then went down again...it was pretty clear it wasn't a serious injury.
