Tottenham fans were 'spot on' to taunt Jack Wilshere after injury, insists Stan Collymore

2 less than Peter Schmeichel.

Although to be fair out of those 7, 2 of them won goal of the season!! Hands up who read the programme on Saturday.... ✋️
I'd rather win the golden boot than a 'goal of the season' award. When it comes to scoring goals, quantity is quality.

Meh this little scrote - I'd jeer as he received a pike to the bridge of his nose

Wilshere is in many ways symbolic of what's wrong with aspects of modern football. An early breakthrough followed by regular first team performances with a team comfortable, though relatively unsuccessful in the grand scheme of things. Then adulation and hype that really leads to very little relative to the hyperbolic platitudes garnered by the media and punditry alike. All this coupled in this case with a profoundly classless and unpleasant personality culminating in some pissed up nonsense that gets overlooked because somehow he's just a cheeky chappy.

In short, he's a stunted, gnarled bell-end; and last Saturday he paid the piper for his fuckwittery and unpleasantness. I don't wish pain on anyone but even the manner of his injury was laughably tragic.

I'll bet you any money he'll be playing alongside John F'ing Terry at wet spam next season.

At least it would be good for a laugh...

Is it bad that I threw in a few Park Life-esque 'POND LIFE' lines while reading that?

Two other incidents worth bringing up:

In a NLD, I think it was the 3-3 in 2011, Bale got clattered by Szczesny. The Arsenal fans all cheered. The medics came on to give him treatment. They cheered louder. It became apparent that he couldn't continue, his number went up and he was subbed off. They celebrated like they'd scored a goal.

Another was a couple of years earlier at the Lane, Adebayor back when he played for Arsenal was running at full sprint and his hamstring went. He collapsed to the ground to a great cheer from the home crowd and a stretcher came on for him. Now instead of doing the sensible thing and taking him straight off to the west of the pitch, they took him to the east and carried the game on. Which meant that he effectively did a lap of honour around the Spurs fans on the stretcher, and as he came past everyone took their turn to jeer and abuse him.

These incidents were before Bale's dive at the Emirates and Adebayor's penalty against Basel. Neither set of fan had any reason to especially hate either of these players, other than they were star players for rival teams. I personally think that if it had been someone like Fabregas, Nasri or Van Persie in his position they'd also have been mocked, although the fact that it's Wilshere and his history with us meant it was a lot louder and a lot more vicious.

At the end of the day, this stuff happens all over the place and we're far from the worst. Stoke boo Aaron Ramsey, because a few years ago he had the audacity to have his leg broken at their place. I sat in the Paxton, the opposite side of the ground from them, and heard the Arsenal fans clearly and loudly singing "shot in Angola, it should have been you" to Adebayor. If Wilshere had done a Muamba, or had clearly broken something and had an oxygen mask on, that would be different, but jeering him after all the stick he's gone out of his way to give us when he just has a little knock? I'd do it again in a heartbeat. Ha ha ha you fucking prick, how are you enjoying the relegation scrap in front of crowds of 11,000 people while your precious Arsenal are huffing and puffing 14 points behind us? Your entire career is based on one game against Barcelona six years ago that still ended in them knocking you out of the competition. Your manager decided he'd rather keep Coquelin, Elneny and Ramsey than you. Enjoy it you scumbag.

Ah, that felt good :)

To be honest after remembering him on the top that bus I was thinking we didn't abuse him enough.

Seeing as he broke his leg kicking Kane perhaps Harry should visit him in hospital... carrying the FA Cup preferably.

If I remember rightly he was only good for 30 minutes against Barca in that game. All this shit about him having Inesta and Xavi in his pocket is shit. If that had been some random 18 year old from anywhere else but England it would have been forgotten.
He's a scumbag who thinks he's the messiah for English Football because all the media love to beat him off. I think this also comes from him being at Arsenal who have to my knowledge haven't brought any English talent through since Wenger took over. The tirade on the bus and the taxi incident are just a glimpse of what an unsavory tool he is.
He deserved all the heat he got on Saturday. He reaped what he had sowed. Wilshere is all that's wrong with English youth footballers. I'm glad our players are above stupid shit Wilshere excels at.
