I think stats maybe take a part in highlighting players-if a player gets lots of goals, makes a lot of assists, tackles, blocks, clearances etc, but then scouts tend to start looking at players to see if the stats actually highlight a good player or give a dodgy view.

I don't know any clubs that just take stats and make decisions to buy players.
I'm obviously not suggesting that Levy spends his time making comparisons on Squawka.

Everyone seems to be going on about the "dribbled past 55 times" stat, but it's worth noting that Angel Rangel was also in the top 5, and Swansea's midfield is very attacking. The CM's don't cover, and Dyer and Hernandez don't track back at all.

That stat is a bit misleading tbh, he was probably taken on 1vs1 much more than most defenders anyway.

JJ says nearly there

:)

So announced anytime between today and Wednesday.

I am told by one of Bale's advisors that it took Bale's team of accountants, lawyers and other advisors about 2 weeks or so to structure and get into contract form the various image rights, merchandising and other deals after Spurs/RM had agreed everything and RM/Bale had agreed wages and a general agreement on the other matters - and they were constrained by the TW closing, hence Bale transfer being announced almost as the TW was closing.

I'd hope that Davies transfer is shorter to do than our last former Welsh FB's outward transfer !

Was hoping we were switching our attentions to Rodriguez as that excited more than this.

Heck, maybe I'll just be greedy and hope we get them both and ship rose out! (I'm pretty much assuming disco benny is gone - who i like but maybe it's just time to let him go).
