Swansea are no longer selling Ben Davies shirts at their club shop....

Looks done and dusted tbh.
To be fair, they have a small selection of player names so it might be the case that his name wasn't an option...

He definitely was on the list. I checked about a week ago, because I remember a transfer like 2 years ago where a club (can't remember who) took a player off the club shirts list, and he moved, out of the blue, a day later. (y)

I'm taking this one as done now to be honest (great news), although it wouldn't surprise me if the announcement took a little while longer, depending on agreements with Swansea and if we want to announce at the same time as the other deals etc.

Surely if he travelled to Seattle to have a medical then it's only a matter of time before there are photos of him with the squad in Toronto?

We really have milked this deal. I'm glad it looks like it's happening but he is hardly a world class player.

He isn't now, and he may never be - but as Vulcan10 says, he's a left back. And a fairly good one at that. Please find me a better home grown left back for 10M...

With the right training this lad could be great. He's at a pretty good level at 21, has a tempered attitude, keeps his head down, and seems to work hard. He just isn't there talent wise. But talent can be taught, mentality cannot.

I have been a big Ben Davies fan for two seasons I don't need telling how good he can become. My point is aimed at Baldini and Levy for taking an age to sign him.

Why does it matter how long it took?!

Jesus Christ, people like to moan for the sake of moaning don't they?

If you look at our transfer dealings since ENIC took over there is a pattern. We tend to take an age over transfers. What are the implications for that? The new players don't have enough time to adjust to the managers style, philosophy, they don't get to know their new team mates. Guess what happens next? We drop points early season as the players don't know eachother well enough through not having the training time to nail the game plan. So I would say it matters very much.

Not moaning for the sake of moaning just posting what happens most transfer windows and it bloody well costs the team point most seasons. Two seasons ago we missed out on CL by a point. Them fine lines are the difference between achieving something or not.

looking at the brief footage on ssn earlier the kid looks a much bigger unit than I thought so physically he's not going to be found wanting for sure. For once i'm just happy that I won't be shitting bricks every time an opposing team attacks down the left side, great solid buy for me with a lot of potential.

If the past you might have a point but it's only 21st July, the squad have just started their pre season tour, World Cup players are still on holiday and our much needed left back is already with the squad so what's the issue here? These deals are very complex to complete I'm sure, not to mention sounding out other targets first, bringing in cash from sales etc and apparently fighting off Liverpool for this kid. For once all seems good to me. I'd say the Morgan S deal is pretty far along also so we are trying to get things done earlier.
With this one I think there is a difference between being done behind the scenes and being announced at a time to suit both clubs.

But if we're doing it now then this signing has been done fairly early on.

Spurs have an opening training session tomorrow so if he has been with the squad as reported then they'd have to announce it before the training session I would think. If he's to train with us that is.
