I thought he looked ok after the game. How many times has Gomes played the injury? I saw him shake his head and limped to the 6 yard box but after the game he lost his limp! hence me saying he's OK

Yrp, he did that during the game but he also shook his head when he went to shake hands with one of the Bolton staff. He was also definitely limping (sort of dragging his leg) as he went off down the tunnel :-(

i want to know why bolton were really going for it, i mean they had no incentive, also the ref was very much their 12th man; i won't lie that the thought of the fat arabs paying out has crossed my mind...

vital win anyways, and i just hope we dont bottle it on wednesday (please please please, we deserve it so much more than they do) and controversy does not rear its ugly head (unless its in our favour )

Lol thats an odd post. Why shouldn't bolton go for it. They can't just lay down for us just as we expect west ham to have a good go at city

i mean they were REALLY going for it.. not just playing a balanced game. And i think we can all conclude that west ham won't go for it against shitty, 110%. anything to spoil another london teams season they will endeavor to do.

Not if Fulham beat West Ham 10-0 and Hull beat Wigan 13-0. That would make the race for survival interesting.

I thought exactly the same thing, they weren't just trying, they were really going for it, out of their skin at times, I do not expect the same from Wham against City at all.

A few points on the match...

I thought the defence were all very comfortable today. Kaboul has gone up in my reckoning after this performance and should be considered a long term competitor to Corluka for RB.

Our forwards today were simply outmuscled and they became frustrated because a lot of the early little decisions went against us. Bolton played a very disciplined game and pressed us well. It should be considered measure of our technical ability that we retained so much possession in light of this pressure. My own preference for wednesday would be to start Gudjohnsson, (with who? i'm not sure.)

Effectively the team ground out a result, its something we havent been good at doing over the last few years so we should be pleased by that. Man City will be an entirely different prospect at Eastlands. They will likely attack with pace but they will leave gaps and we can exploit that. I think its a game Gudjohnsson and Modric (and unfortunately Krancjar) is suited for.

Finally, if anyone who saw Burnley go down 2-1 against Birmingham will tell you they stopped playing after 20 mins and looked like they just wanted to get off the pitch.

For a shit club like that, scuppering another team's CL prospects is a seasons achievement.

Not best of performances today but at this stage of the season all that matters is 3 points. But a few more goals would have been good. Bolton really played well today! It was almost like they had something to play for themselves. Very worrying about Gomes. Hope if he is injured we will be able to call up a goalkeeper like city have done. Im thinking either Foster, or maybe cheeky bid for Robbo. Hudds goal was class goal of the season barring a certain Danny Roses goal! Big worry is our strikers form they all seem to be out of the form.

which is good that most of the time players aren't too passionate about the team they play

I really did think Bolton was going to pull a draw today. We really do lack imagination, Modric was man marked out of the game. My criticism is at the strike force, they just do not seem to hitting anything, I for one have singled out PAV, he is awful at the moment and JD .. well... I really want us to go to Shitty land with a 4-5-1 formation. Any news on Gomes? No Gomes no 4th ..

HG made the lap of honour ok - but nobody was running -

Gomes is as important to us as Banks was to England in 66 and 70, irreplaceable

another superb display by the big man today

Kaboom and Awesome Dawson were both outstanding i thought, Dawsons case to be ont he plane to South Africa just gets stronger by the game.

Glad we got the points, bummed that other results didn't go our way.

Huh.Why are Blackburn going to let us take their first choice goalie on loan for the last two games of the season?

Do not think I have shouted at the players on my TV as much for a long time as I did today! Particularly when Gomes was hobbling in the closing stages. So relieved we held out. Bolton can be so awkward to play, particularly when they seem to have the ref's sympathy. Shame about the Citeh result. Villa let us down.

Modric is gonna have to improve his finishing if we want to get a good price from ManUSA Corp.

Worried about Gomes, really worried. Irony eh?

All four defenders were superb today, either magnificent or absolutely magnificent.

Bale started poorly but after a shakey first 25 he was his usual brilliant self.

Another assured and intelligent central midfield role from Modric, and Huddlestone played fairly well and scored an absolute beaut.

Bentley had good moments and bad, but I remain underwhelmed.

Defoe was not great but was playing well, better than his partner anyway, when he was hauled off, I didn't understand that.

Pavlyuchenko reverted to that frustrating players who tries impossible shots from wierd, far out angles, not happy with him today.

Crouch came on and did his job well, Lennon came on and, though clearly not at his sharpest, won a whole load of corners and had them running scared. Gudjohnsen was again pedestrian.

Well done manager for picking the right formation with the right players. Well done Spurs for, at the very least, having this seasons joint best (if not outright best after next weeks final round) defensive record. Well done the crowd for being immense. Now let's finish the job and get into the Champions League. Come On You Spurs!
