Aurier and Sanchez are going to make a big difference for us playing at Wembley. Tripper has done well overall, and has a lovely cross but in terms of an over all package Aurier is another level all together.

I thought you didn't see a need for Aurier?

I am still wiping it off! Glad to be proved wrong though

It's only been the last few games though.

I want to see him continue in this gear all season.

That's what Rose did before cementing his place pre injury.

Davies does look a different beast this season though. I'll be ready to flick aside the egg.

Completely agree. It was particularly impressive considering that, if I'm not mistaken, it was the first time we had set up to play on the counter under Poch.

To get a deserved win against one of the best teams in Europe while trying out a brand new tactic is remarkable. Think of how much we've improved, how much more fluid and confident we are, since we first played three at the back in the NLD.

We will continue to get better and more assured as a counter-attacking side as we get more chances to play in this system against the likes of City and Liverpool, and in the return trip to Dortmund. If we make it through to the knockout stage it could be a huge asset.

We played on the counter against Arsenal at the Emirates in 2014 IIRC

Didn't hurt that they were missing two of their starting defenders including their captain. If they are back when we play at BVB, I would expect a little stiffer test.
They'll need them, we'll have Dele back.
Got to say at the game last night I never felt nervous from about forty minutes, Dortmund were good but by then the game had changed, as an example Aurier found himself in acres of space down the right by then.
Second half we came out and started playing balls through and beyond their back line with runners beating any offside calls and they couldn't handle it.
The most noticeable thing about their disallowed goal was that it was against the run of play, honestly how we didn't have another two or three goals I'm still not sure.
Serge Aurier grew into his role and really found his feet last night, Sanchez got caught out a couple of times but he was last man and did a lot more right than wrong overall having a good game. Great night, terrific result in what is effectively a knockout situation in this group and good performance all round, not least by the manager.

Four season wonder. Hasn't proven himself against Accrington Stanley yet so I don't know why everyone's getting so excited about him.
Exfuckingactly. No mention of other teams strikers, just this bullshit comparison with Raul in a segment that lasts only 2 mins and 27 seconds yet they devote 2 minutes and 29 seconds to Liverpools game :D

Really good and important win last night. Thought first half we were a little lucky to be leading as Dortmund looked far more threatening for large parts of it. But second half was lot better. Sanchez looks like he is going to be class for us! Also Toby gave another master class in defence! Get that contract sorted for him!

Everyone says we were lucky with their second disallowed goal, but wasn't their first goal offside in the build up? Cancels each other out as far as I'm concerned.

I didn't watch the game but just wondering what people thought about having Son in the team over Alli. Was it almost a welcomed change?

I can also see why the linesman flagged, they had about four players in an offside position when that ball came in. Probably a bit easy to jump the gun.

Couple of Spurs fans raging talking to Talksport - one person, queued for 2:30 hours today & missed the first half. Apparently we/Wembley fucked up today

I heard stories of people getting sent from the gates to the east ticket office where there was an hour queue to get paper tickets. Sounds like a catastrophic fuck up somewhere. There certainly werent 30k tickets left to buy.
