mate --- nowt to do with his playing career! He loves us and is a huge fan.....I was nervous until the 91st-92nd min!

I wasn't doubting he's a Yid through and through. :) Do have a lot of respect for him as a player and a pundit. I guess I poorly articulated that some of the doubt us fans used to have...probably transcended onto the pitch sometimes - and he may have been one of the ones to feel it the most. :)

That's just conjecture. It's barely an opinion - was just a thought I had! ;)

Just got home, what a fantastic result and brilliant goals by Kane. Night only tarnished somewhat by the fact I missed the Son goal as it took 20 mins to get through the bloody turnstiles!!

Aurier looked great, they all did in fact.

Sanchez was a bit wobbly. He seemed to get caught of position a few times. Dortmund targeted him by planting high balls down the centre behind him.

Damn, missed it as I'm working out in Pennsylvania this week. Hope we were good and that my dad recorded it...

If we get anything in Madrid i'll do any forfeit you like that involves me stripping naked, a buttplug, two leeks, an albino pit pony, a feather duster, a can of squirty cream, one Romanian weightlifter dwarf and a gas mask.

Otherwise known as a standard Thursday round my gaff.

He was, but it was against top class opposition and he will learn valuble lessons from this game.

I know that one time Sanchez was the only CB actually in the right position.

Thing is they didn't create much at all. Sanchez was a big part of that. Its clear he is not at Toby's and Vert's level quite yet, but then again who is?

We've had too many big games especially in cups under poch where maybe we've beeen slightly tactically naive and been outdone by a more pragmatic team

But today was a brilliant tactical performance from poch and shows he is clearly learning alongside our young squad, scary!
Exactly this, that's my biggest plus point from tonight, the fact that poch switched the game plan up in order to win the one off game!

It's been my one criticism of him in the past and where we've fallen short but I like that he is always learning and today showed that.

Watched the game again; we were excellent in the second half. BVB are such a dangerous team and we dealt with them.

Dembele finally turned up after 60mins and had a solid remainder of the game.

Front 3 rotated effortlessly and loved seeing Eriksen drop so often to help build.

Was more like a 3412 and I think that suits eriksen much more.

Harry did some sterling work in defense on set pieces and also dropped a bit deeper at times.

BVB really didn't know what to do with us tonight,

The craziest thing is they kept their high line with no fucks given.

Dunno why but some of the punditry on the game annoys me.If this was Athletico Madrid vs Dortmund, people would be saying what typical strong Athletico performance.

Instead I've heard some pundits criticize our defensive work, insist Dortmund are still clearly the better team. Without stopping to think if our defensive work was bad what does that make Dortmund?

Ultimately we rode our luck on occasion. But apart from the offside decisions they had only one serious chance which was from the corner, when we were already 3-1 up. The other chance was the Pulsic one where he stretches but cant make clean contact. That was a half chance at most because of pressure he was put under, it would of taken an incredible ball to put in a position where Pulsic could get clean contact.

We defended well, very well largely. We created more chances almost all of which pretty clean cut. Dortmund were not actually all that good. For all the pretty passes they were not that effective at breaking us down and were so exposed at the other end. Tactically I think we did very well, and I think today we've learnt a new way to play against a certain kind of team.

Completely agree. It was particularly impressive considering that, if I'm not mistaken, it was the first time we had set up to play on the counter under Poch.

To get a deserved win against one of the best teams in Europe while trying out a brand new tactic is remarkable. Think of how much we've improved, how much more fluid and confident we are, since we first played three at the back in the NLD.

We will continue to get better and more assured as a counter-attacking side as we get more chances to play in this system against the likes of City and Liverpool, and in the return trip to Dortmund. If we make it through to the knockout stage it could be a huge asset.

Mauricio: "It means more than three points. To build our confidence, trust and feel at home at Wembley is so important."

Poch could not have said this any better. This wins gives us a plan B going forward.
Hopefully we win against Swansea this weekend - then we can bury the 'Wembley voodoo' for good.

For the first time that i can remember he looked very tired during his post match interview. Understandable i guess, but i really think the overall result for the team and club playing at Wembley is actually far bigger than the result itself.

They seem a bit like Liverpool to me - good at the press, great at attacking; and if you only think in terms of defending against that then you play into their hands. But they don't get much practice at defending, and if you do manage to attack them then it turns out they're shit at that part of the game. It's how you attack them that's key - hard to beat them at their own game - I liked the early counter-attacking and the rope-a-dope tactic of letting them punch themselves out before taking control later on.

Didn't hurt that they were missing two of their starting defenders including their captain. If they are back when we play at BVB, I would expect a little stiffer test.

Would like to say that excellent performance aside, aubameyang is an incredible footballer and I'm surprised that he's still at dortmund tbh. They've done insanely well to keep him away from the big boys.

I just want to take a second to give a shout to four dudes:

1. Serge - this was his first game for us, playing in an unfamiliar system against one of the best teams in Europe. Impressive.
2. Sanchez - only his second game, and clearly he was a bit nervous. But he kept that shit in check and kept his head up all night marking one of the top ten strikers in the world.
3. Harry - what I saw tonight was a player of immense quality, dedication, leadership and confidence. We are truly blessed to have a player of his caliber. Now dare I say it... A player better than Bale,
4. Poch - probably his best tactical game for us. It seemed counter intuitive to sit off and give them possession. But clearly he saw a chink in their armor on the break. Moreover, it was also clever, as he recognized that Dortmund were probably depending on us having a lot of meandering possession, and then using their slick passing and speed to pick us off on the counter, it was a risk, but hey, you can't say he didn't live up to our team motto tonight, eh? To Dare is to Do. And Poch and his lads sure did it tonight,

Feels so good to have another beautiful Glory, Glory night again.
