Yeah the ref was shit, but having zero goal threat from our lone striker is what cost us a win here.

How anyone can not be frustrated with Crouch after todays game is beyond me. I'm not a hater of his, I appreciate he offers us something different, but he should not be used from the start as a lone frontman.

People will use his assist to defend him, the ball hit him and bounced away as he was trying to control it, that ball could have just as easily rolled out of play as it did into VDV's path. I would like to have seen how the game would have panned out had we started with a striker who can a) score his fair share of goals and b) provide movement to disrupt defences and create space for our attacking midfielders.

this is the main issue imo. The only striker we have who can peel away from defenders and drag around CB's is defoe. We need defoe back + a player in a similar mould but with a more physical/intelligent edge.

Mate, you get out there on that pitch and hold a pole up to knock the ball down, you'd be offering exactly the same.

I really bloody hate that thing he does with his tongue when he constantly fluffs it. He looks like some div kid on the pitch who's just pleased to get a touch every now and then.

Harry got it all wrong today, Pav should've started, Crouch played midweek so there was no reason to start him again. Then the substituion with Lennon lost us the points.

Good idea switching the best LW in the world atm to the RW....yeah just to compensate for VDV and Crouch. Should've been straight swap Pav for Crouch and VDV going up to play pretty much next to Pav.

Still we're in third, it could've been worse. Lets hope City and Arsenal draw and both drop points.

poor substition, why replace lennon with bale moving him from his good side to the side where hutton is unable to release the winger. nullified 2 threat sin one go, well done 'arry, shit.
crouch-stop starting him, hes not worth and his presence negates the need for top quality passers of the ball and counter attack football, we may as well be bolton, shit.
referee-what a ****,shit.
a poor point at home shouldve been all 3 but some stable performances.

I'm not aying it's pretty but it's pretty harsh to ignore the fact that he has scored some important goals for us in the past and has assisted a number of goals, mainly for VDV this season. If he were scoring even a minimal amount of goals this would probably be just about acceptable, but no league goals from him this season is criminal since he starts most games. He should be used as an impact sub when we have ran out of ideas on the deck.

Whilst we aren't a long ball team, I think it can become a bit predictable the way we try to just work the ball down the flank and cross it when he plays. Our performances tend to be much better when he is not there IMO.

Crouch was bad but the nonstop long balls forward and high crosses from deep were painful. We need a very good first-choice striker so freaking bad.

Not sure what Harry was playing at with leaving Crouch on and taking Lennon off. Bale should have gone off too as it was obvious he was exhausted, what does Kranjcar have to do to get a game?

BAE, Modric, Sandro, Kaboul all looked good. Off game for VdV.

Bale had more of an impact on the game after he switched to the right.

I didn't realise it was a 12.45 ko. Went shopping with the Mrs thinking I was getting back in time. Schoolboy stuff. Gutted.

to be fair lennon was knackered, i can see why harry subbed him. agree balke of the right was an odd one though. vdv on the right with hutton overlapping might have been better. more than anything though i'm just left with even more certainty that we desperately need a new striker!!!

I couldn't agree more. I will also add VDV was moved to play on the left. what was his point of keeping that clown Crouch? what is it that Crouch needs to do in order to get dropped permanently? How is this man any better than all the kids he sent on loans "to get some experience"? Crouch has got to be the most pathetic Premiership player I have ever seen. When I see his up-teen "Oh I missed a glorious chance again" posture I get sick in the stomach and I feel like I want to throw up.

In fairness Crouch created the goal, no-one seems to have mentioned that. VDV, Pav and Luka all had chances and couldn't take them also, so the Crouch hatred is a little excessive. We cant all cream our pants about him linking with VDV one week then hating him the next when the exact same plan works (1 goal), but not well enough to win the game.

Having said that, the headed chance at the end of the first half was a "Sandra could have scored that" miss. It is amazing how a player who is so good at winning balls in the air is so hit and miss when it comes to directing the ball into the net.

1-1 with Everton? Not a bad result, but i agree we should have won it.

i feel vdv was instructed by redknapp to stay behind when modric goes forward which is why we haven't seen enough of vdv like we used to, while we've seen the most of modric today this season so far.

still vdv scored which is all that counts today because without that goal it would've been a loss to everton. 4 goals in 6 for spurs in the league, i can't see anyone challenging him for the player of the month award honestly.

crouch did not create the goal - howard missed the ball, it hit crouch on his crotch/thighs and it bounced up off his chin and across the goal

but with out Crouch there we wouldn't have scored. So even if it was a mistake Crouch being there still created the goal
