Eriksen was shit tonight but is usually good, Paulinho was shit, same as always and lamela was also shit and ran around a lot, I love how all these people keep defending lamela when he has not had one good game for us, truly ducking turgid and soldado also apart from the goal was rubbish, these 4 are dragging the team down big time!!

That's interesting. Most people on here (including me) thought he was our best/one of our best players. I don't think he was disappointing by any means, he destroyed their LB for most of the time and him being subbed off was an awful decision IMO.

Isn't it interesting how we can watch the same game and have such different opinions! I was in the North lower where everyone was moaning at him, including me by the end. The little kid behind me was screaming "just cross it Townsend"!

Happy to be corrected. I saw more of him in the second half when he ran at the north, perhaps he was much better in the 1st. But he and walker were awfully ponderous in the 2nd half, electing to pass it around a lot when we needed a bit of urgency

Beating the full back time and time again is irrelevant if you don't do anything with the ball.

Wingbacks failure to get down the line and cross early consistently cost us the game tonight.

Not impressed with Davies at all recently.

I thought Townsend disappointed the most - he has fantastic pace but time and time again declined to cross, holding up the ball then giving it away. In the first half a few times when he did have time, he managed to find no-one in the box.

Mate, it was his best performance yet. He was excellent.

Interesting how we all see different things. That was near peak Townsend for me.

He should be very proud of that performance.

He was great tonight.

Wtf is going on around here???

Are people forgetting we could easily (and should have) scored 3/4 goals in the first 30mins??? F'tina changed things in the second half as we were mauling them so it impacted the game, but overall we were great and should win the tie.

I shouldn't have bothered logging on...in fact....

Personally Fiorentina played badly, but the equaliser allowed them to resort back to the basic European away team tactic, sit deep and absorb. Goals change games and tonight that certainly happened. They didn't grow into the game nor was it any tactical masterclass was just in my opinion a lucky time for them to score.

Not sure about that mate yes they scored whilst under the cosh a bit but for an hour after they looked better and more likely to score.
We resorted back to our old tricks of not having much of a clue of how to break them down.
It will tough over there i cant see us doing it now bit of a shame as for all the years we have been in the europa we cant get all the way, i also think chadlis two big efforts were big turning points.

We should have been out of sight way before half time. We had them on the ropes for a while.

I'm not sure why Solado does things like that, he sometimes goes in late with a challenge or kicks a player, maybe it's to show the fans he's got fire in the belly and can cope with the English game, or he just has loses the plot. We had two defenders in front of him and he swipes his legs, there wasn't any need for it.

Either way the goal was comical watching Walker's face, it reminded me of one of them old Tango adverts where he gets slapped in the face and he has no idea how it happened

Poor night for Poch,I really couldn't understand the team we started with and tactically their manager made a few changes at halftime and we couldn't cope.
This was a trophy that we really should have gone all out to win as I can't really see us finishing in the Top 4.
We can't keep a clean sheet so unless Harry Kane scores twice in every league game we have no chance.

But we didn't. Our finishing and final ball were still very poor. Regardless of how nice it look for the first 30 minutes we still went in at HT 1-1 to me that makes it a poor half of football.

Angry with that result. Why did we start with that team? The players have had 9/10 days off, should be fresh and raring to go. Dier, Dembele and Kane all had to start this game. (For Fazio, Paulinho and Soldado). Watching Soldado lead the line is laughable. He cant hold on to the ball, cant head the ball and gives away mindless fouls that costs goals! Soldado is utterly useless, I'd rather have Adebayor in the team!!! And he's now useless as well.
This was the game to go all out with our best team and try and smash them. Now we've a mountain to climb with a cup final 3 days later...

It reminded me of the old Dime Bar advert with Harry Enfield.

Just on the train on the way back from the game. Great first 25 mins but we should have changed it earlier. Paulino just doesn't fit in with our system and was aweful in the 2nd half. We needed Mason on earlier and Soldardo should have gone off for Kane.
Personally I'd have liked to have seen Pooch play a much stronger team tonight and try and put 2 or 3 past them so we could start a weaker team out there with the cup final only 3 days later. Now he'll have to start with a strong lineup as we have to score.

Totally agree with this bit. This was the game to play our strongest team. We'd had eight days rest prior to last night so should have been able to cope with only making a couple of changes for West Ham.

What is quite apparent though is that at least one of Mason and Dembele needs to play as otherwise there's no one to drive the team forward. Paulinho just doesn't do that.
