All I keep reading/hearing is 'we must learn from this', 'ref had a shocker', 'all Alli's fault', 'must take our chances', etc , from our excuse merchants whist we have thrown away our true genuine chance of a trophy this season. Utd/Roma aside we had NOTHING to fear in that last 16 yet once again this team/squad of players have let us down when it matters. This team has a inability to see anything out and the truth is in the pudding the last 1 year. Every game that has really mattered they have failed miserably.

Do any of you really see us beating 2 of AFC/MCFC/CFC/MUFC, which we will have to do in FA cup semi and Final, to win it at Wembley? If the answer is no, deep down you know the truth, why make excuses for yet another pathetic exit from Europe? Nobody does failure and excuses like THFC. If trophies were handed out for excuses our fan base would be record holders of it.....!
The posters who agreed with your hysterical nonsense were expected.

Poysonally, I'm not too upset with Dele.

But given how we complain when players show a lack of passion and commitment and are not prepared to get stuck in, look uninterested or uninvolved or have no appetite for the fight, I take Dele's "attitude" and desire every fucking day of the week thank you.

He'll learn. Or maybe he won't. Maybe it's part of why he's so fucking brilliant most of the time.
There is desire and attitude tempered with control aggression, and there is cowardice and stupidity. As I would class Dele's action in the latter, I cannot accept his performance on this occasion at any time much less every day of the week.

Observing that it was a rash, stupid, expensive mistake that probably cost us the result adds nothing to the bleeding obvious.

Maybe it's part of why he isn't so fucking brilliant quite a lot of the time ?

I feel Dier of last season, while arguably still not individually as good as Wanyama, helps solve the team's needs more.

In my mind, if we put a Pirlo or Xavi in their prime with Wanyama, Vincent's passing would still cause issues. To go all Football Manager on it, Wanyama has more 18-20s, but Dier has less 1-10s

Errrr, WHAT? Believe it or not, not everyone on here plays Football Manager, or have ever played it! It's also possible that some on here don't have enough fingers and toes to count to 20, or maybe ....... nah I'm not going THAT far, it's Friday and I've not had enough to drink ... yet!:oops::oops::oops::oops::oops:

Whilst I totally agree it was a red, without any question; rather than it being cowardice, I think it was revenge / anger. I THINK it was the same player who had fouled him only seconds before and the foul wasn't given. It was a rush of blood to the head and his brain didn't over-rule his emotions, so his anger cut in and he wanted to get his own back.

It's sometimes hard to remember that it's only his second season playing for us and he's young. That's not to excuse, for one split second, his tackle but it is important to put in the context of his inexperience.

Maybe.

We don't know why any player and particularly young players can't perform at the highest level of their capabilities the whole time, but none of them can.

It doesn't sound like the most plausible explanation but we'll never know, so yes, you may be right.

I like a player with a bit of nasty, but there's clever nasty and then there's stupid fucking nasty, and most of Alli's shit is just petulant and stupid and everyone can see it, it's mostly for show, like that tw*t Barton, Roy Keane would break his fucking leg and not even get a yellow.

Cut him a bit of slack. He has been very well behaved this season.

It's not a case of Wanyama seemingly being undroppable, it's just the case that he is undroppable. Watching him live was an eye opener. He makes a lot of stuff happen. Dier's touch was poor and his ingame thinking was not good.

Wanyama has had some very good games for us, but he's also had some awful games. Monaco away, Liverpool away where he was at fault for the opening goal, Gent away. It was his failure to control a simple ball in midfield that surrendered possession which ultimately resulted in Gent's first goal last night. It was also Dier's pass that set Eriksen away for his goal.

Agreed, it was also the player(19)rolling about acting injured in our penalty area trying to slow the game down minutes earlier.
I was at that side of the pitch and the frustration was obvious and his actions predictable but unacceptable.

Didn't think it would be long before Wanyama gets blamed. He's been brilliant for us, Dier has been poor all season. Far more players to blame before Wanyama

So it's OK if you break someone's leg because you're a cynical "hard man" who systematically intimidates and hurts other players rather than being emotional kid who gets carried away a bit too much and loses his discipline?

This is just macho bullshit isn't it?

Please lets not waste another 60m this summer

The fact n'koudou was not even in the match day squad, sissoko was an unused sub and Janssen played all of 5 minutes I would say Poch knows he fucked up
Don't worry we won't, because we won't have 60 million to spend.

I suppose so, if u completely ignore that during that time trophies weren't being hoovered up by clubs who have had massive injections of money to make them competitive....let that sink in for a minute.

And you completely ignore the fact that we are nearly always the richest club in Europa league one who has had massive injections of television money in that time and yet has only got to one quarter final. In comparison Sevilla a club whose resources and capacity is significantly below ours has won 5 in a decade, let that sink in for a minute.

If your argument applied to the league and CL then you would be on safe ground but when you extend this to the other cups you are not. If the likes of Wigan, Swansea, Birmingham can win silverware in that time then there is no excuses. And it is not just extended to those sides very average United (as we saw last season)Arsenal and Liverpool sides have also managed to win league and FA Cups in that period. We can't hide behind the resources argument to excuse our own actions in these tournaments.

Ha, football manager/championship manager, a way to waste literally hours of the day playing a computer game. They rate mental, technical and physical abilities (like strength, vision, concentration, marking, pace) out of 20
Thanks. I thought it meant range of passing, in yards when I was trying to work it out!
