Maybe pochettino thinks we don't need a dm vs gillingham at home

This is what I think the ideal is. With a well drilled, pressing machine, a team does not need a tank that is there to solely break up play. I truly think that if Winks gets on and shows grit coupled with his forwardness, we could see a CM2 of Dembele and Winks.

As for this lineup, I like it. This is exactly the kind of risk taking I wanted to see against Sunderland, but will happily take it here. I think the midfield is going to be pretty fluid which should be interesting for both the offensive and defensive sides of the ball.

That line up tells me two things : Dier is a doubt for Sat hence not risking Wanyama and both Eriksen and Lamela are almost certain to start in Moscow and not on Sat.

As others here I'm have a few concerns over the CM2 but other than that it's a strong side that should take us through regardless. COYS!

Me too. But I'm expecting the over-reaction brigade to come in screaming at Poch that he doesn't have the passion or the fire to be captain and wanders in and out too easily of games or some rubbish

I'm looking forward to the insanity when we get overrun in midfield and Eriksen hasn't beaten the first man on consecutive corners.

Very excited to see CCV make his full debut. Been watching him for a while now with the US youth teams(u20 wc and the u23 matches were televised) and when ever I can find a stream of the Spurs youth games. Hope he plays well. He has a ton of potential.

Happy with that team. Full backs, Eriksen and Lamela have the opportunity to play themselves into the first team. Centre backs competing with each other for place in the pecking order, same with the midfielders three homegrown. Janssen has the opportunity to get into some rhythm ahead of a period where we will rely on him. Hopefully we do wells bough, early enough for Pochettino to feel safe in giving Edwards more than a token few minutes.
