until spurs sign o a top quality vdv replacement and more imprtantly a modric replacement then that game tonight just shows why we should have a three of sandro parker and dembele in , with bale and lennon on wings and an other up on own......that is out strongest midfield set up

You know Adebayor is suspended, right? And you know Caulker was out ill? And that BAE is injured thus we're pretty much forced to play Vertonghen at LB, what with him being an international in that position and everything? I think you'll find that what we're doing at the moment is known as making the best of what we have available.

No excuses. BAE, Adebayor and Caulker should be playing regardless of injury, suspension or illness.

Not comfortable viewing really, but a great win.

We clearly have the better players but we jsut dont play like a team. Liverpool play as a coherent unit, and will no doubt improve, but we were really disjointed - particularly under pressure. How many misplaced passes were there from our boys? Hopefully that cohesion will develop and once we get a consistent spine then the flowing football should arrive.

That said, some great last ditch defending today and lloris looking very assured. I think if Ade was playing, we would have smashed them harder than Richard Keys with a wrecking ball.

3) a] I got to send a mocking 'Mind the gap' text to my gooner boyfriend. b] Sod tempting fate, you have no idea of the ribbing i've taken this week.

a] Good for you. (y)

b] I take it he's still serving his 'lack of sexy time' penance, as a consequence. :)

That wasn't our problem, we didn't press their centre halves, Defoe and Dempsey dropped off and let them set up play, Bale and Lennon stated too wide. This also allowed them to press us high up the pitch and with Gallas and Dawson showing complete inability to pass even 5 yards we were under constant pressure. Very surprised AVB didn't fix it at half time, if we had pressed them at the back it would have disrupted their build up.

The big miss tonight was Adebayor, without him we had no way of holding the ball upfront to relieve pressure and build play.

If we could get felliani from Everton, we would look sweet.

need so much more than that and where wud u play him....

start at the back for me... buy a fucking center half who can defend properly .. gallas is gone and dawson for all his whole heartness is accident waiting to happening.

then buy a fucking center forward who in the words of harry fucking runs around a bit and chases lost causes and works his socks off for the team...

anyone see bale and defoe not pass to each other again tonight haha? defoe giving him socks in first half for shooting and not passing!!!

God help us if Bale gets injured. I actually think we rely on him to the same extent we relied on Ginola in the late 90's.

Sure, we have a far better squad than we had then but he's our only threat. Parking on the edge of the box and hopefully getting the ball to him so he can take on the whole team seems to be plan A, B and C.

did u watch first 20 minutes or so? i agree a decent striker who can play and play for his team helps but it takes more than a striker to make a team have the moral courage to go out and play and dominate game and be in control

Was that the penalty appeal that Rodgers was so upset about?

Absolute nonsense. Hope he looks at those replays and thinks about what he said after the game. Starting to lose a lot of respect for him.

Neither of them were penalty's. The first, as seen on MoTd was clearly one by Demb's he ran away with the ball ffs, how Roger's can whine about that i don't know. The second looked like Gallas just got a toe to it and poked it to Lloris. I thought Lennon did decent tonight, obviously scored the goal and tracked back pretty well i thought, but he was also the one that seemed to initiate the closing down afew times and it was nice to see. I think our first touch has been awful this year and it puts us into these dodgy situations. Would also help if some of the players looked up before they passed haha. Bloody good win tonight though, i was shitting myself at the end.

Let me get this straight. They had a lot of possession and didn't do much with it. So, basically as effective as masturbation when it comes to population growth.

After that goal line clearance I wonder if those burks who tweeted abuse to Kyle Walker after the Chelsea game will be sending a different sort of tweet tonight.

Lol oh I know...

I would actually play him with dembele and sandro in a 3 man midfield with the hair getting forward as the support striker.

I think cb we are ok, new winger and another striker are more important. We have kaboul to come back in the cb position, but if bale gets injured and/or Lennon... Eeek.

Let alone adebayour and the acn. Injury to Defoe and gulp!
