Watching the game again now, about half an hour through. Walker had a fantastic game.

Walker did nothing wrong, was immense. I said yesterday, our FB's must make most other teams very jealous. Pace, tenacious, expereinced, never give the other team a break. Glorious.

Tenacious is exactly they word. Their intensity and pace is so unrelenting, and they are becoming more and more dangerous with the ball too.

Walker and Rose gave Sterling a massive schooling yesterday. Toby and Verts were like sponges and rocks, both absorbing all the pressure, and yet smashing anyone that came near them. Wanyama was exactly the player we've missed since Parker. Sorry Dier, you're a terrific young player too, but Wanyama has a single-mindedness in the way he just hunts down the ball and closes off all the angles. Just fantastic. And what's truly great about that is the way it enables the likes of Eriksen and Lamela to focus on linking everything up, and Alli can just box to box it without fear.

I felt that Lamela and Son could have done with being replaced on 75 by Janssen and N'Koudou... legs were done by then, and they were starting to lose the ball cheaply. But the meat of our strength yesterday was that defensive foundation. Just immense.

Special note again for Hugo... two more worldies from him that would have usually seen Aguero bagging a couple. Great teams are nearly always built on the best keepers, and we have one of the greatest in world football right now.

I have to say, i think Eriksen is much better for us deeper being the assister to the assist. His in game intelligence and cute little passes in that position can really open up a team, plus he has the protection of the likes of Wanyama, Dembele, Dier, Sissoko etc with whoever plays out of them.

Really liking this improvement to our formation with the one dedicated DM, it seems much more like a fluid 4-3-3, which means we can be quite devastating offensively.

It's difficult to choose a starting 11 right now, but this would currently be my idea of what our best 3-3 part of the formation should be....

Wanyama
Dembele Eriksen
L/A/S/GKN Son
Kane

With everyone fit, Wanyama starts over Dier right now. Dembele when fit is in our best 11, with eriksen as part of the 3 he has two physical units to offer protection, with Son and Kane starting as you can't drop them. Then its a battle royal out of Lamela, Alli, Son, GKN, Sissoko. But obviously it's not as simple as that, we have multiple games and roation etc.

Be good to hear peoples thoughts on this? I'm sure others have very differing opinions.

Best thing is they should both have another 5-7 years in them yet.

We've got the best full backs we could possibly have to undertake our style of play. Athletic, fast, skillful, direct and nasty.

Having Rose and Walker maraud the wide areas is truly a pleasure. Utterly integral to us achieving our ambitions.

Love em

Agree to an extent regarding Lloris but he did get lucky with the Aguero shot that hit the post as it should have been a more comfortable save and to be honest his distribution was poor yesterday and put us under unnecessary pressure a few times. Quality keeper without a doubt but I also think there's just a little room for improvement, mostly just with his kicking mind.

I agree regarding Lamela and Son too, thought when Janssen and Nkoudou came that we could have done with those fresh legs maybe 10 minutes prior to them being introduced, Son and Lamela ran themselves into the ground.

So much and I love having players like this for us though. Alli is one who's face I'm sure would annoy me if he wasn't a Spurs player :D

That deflected shot he tipped over the bar towards the end was an outstanding save. World class. It's the sort of save that had De Gea made it the media would be going into overdrive. As it was, the MotD commentator said nothing.

Is anyone started a whip round for Claudio Bravo's counselling? I feel we should do something, being responsible and all that.

Its just not cricket is it, chasing down the keeper like that.

Sometimes a player just doesn't fit at a club, or it hasn't clicked yet, I think him at Soton was the time he started to figure it out. But when he finally got paired with super Jan, it all clicked for him, I think if Atletico had him now, they'd never let him go, he's that good, him and Godin would be amazing - I'm so glad we got him.

Didn't vertonghen say he's played about 2/3rds of his career next to alderweireld. That's got to be massively beneficial. Was one of the reasons I wanted us to get Toby when he was at Ajax.

Lloris's saves were brilliant and he's a great goalie, but bugger me, his kicking and distribution yesterday was woeful.

Rose is just incredible though. He's gone from an awful defender to literally being the definition of the modern day fullback. He's the best left back in the league. Who is actually better than him playing in European football right now?

Alli would be exactly the sort of player that would get up my nose if he was at any other team. Young, cocky, petulant streak, shows the sort of lack of respect that you need to play in the lower divisions. Belting.

Lamela clashed with other players at Roma, he has an ego, maybe its getting a bit big, but all top players have it. But someone did say after the match Son and Lamela hugged it out. But you only have to look at his comments last year when he said to Rose we should be winning the title. We need some of that.
Ground lamela covered yesterday was unreal researched the game and he was huge for us. Often overlooked

We're the Atletico Madrid of the premier league.

I went to the Atletico - Deportivo game last weekend during a weekend break, and said several times to my mate how much it reminded me of the Spurs-Sunderland game. So solid defensively, 70% possession, and a complete inability to kill the game off despite having about 30 chances....
